About me: I have two children - one at home and one grown and moved out! I had my first child at 20, so I'm young for my eldest and old for my youngest who is only 6 (going on 30 she thinks!!) I live in the country and drive into the "city" for work everyday. Most people I meet tell me that they'd hate the driving I do but I use it to "decompress" at night and to plan in the mornings! I have a post graduate degree and I'm currently working in my field of study - counseling. As with most counselors, people are fascinating to me and I tend to help anyone in need - even when I'm dead tired!! I love learning and reading - which coincide - but due to a heavy work schedule I don't have much time to read any fiction like I would like to - esp. some good historical fiction! Things that I like to collect include: penguins (funny and unique characters that they tend to be!), anything hand crafted and thereby inherently unique, pottery, displayable art pieces, plants of almost all kind, and anything else that strikes my fancy!!! I love stationary of all kinds and I love shopping for it! I'm always open to new ideas and love to meet and interact with people of different backgrounds. I also tend to buy things from either local businesses or businesses that give back to their communities or help the needy in some way. So that's a quick look at me and some of my likes....I'm sure I'll be back later to add to this as the need arises!!! Have a great day and happy swapping!!!!

Favorite color: melon (some call it coral) - similar to the color inside of a cantaloupe but less orange! some people call it coral.......you really can't go wrong with pinks in general and any color combination that looks great!

Favorite music: all kinds - EXCEPT: old country music, acid rock, rapp, and anything that I can't really distinguish the words or meaning in!!!! Other than that I really am very eclectic in my tastes - anywhere from Pink Floyd to Santana to Indie Arie to Enya!!!

Favorite movies: Pretty Woman (a great older movie!), Any of the Narnia series, any movie at all with Vin Diesel in it :) I also love any movies that center around dancing of any kind - I'm not a dancer but I love to watch others who are good at it :)

Craft likes and dislikes: I've done everything from knitting, crocheting, latchhook (lol), cross stitch, embroidery, some scrapbooking, some card making, and dabbled with too many to note down......but I am new to ATC's and alot of the crafts mentioned on swap-bot, so I'm looking forward to trying new things!! I am absolutely not a freehand artist of any kind....so please don't make me draw anything!!!! I'm also interested in friendship books - but it seems a little difficult to get involved with this since most of the swaps indicate you have to be experienced and already swapping :( Matchbox art appeals to me because I have always loved little containers that hold things - of all shapes and sizes!!!!

Dreams for future projects include: mosaics - of the tile nature, ATC's of course, FB's, and making personalized envelopes.......that should do for a start!!

When sending items to me, please keep in mind: you can't go wrong with just about anything.....I'm open minded and like things that other people pick out - esp. the thought that goes with picking things out for others! I'm not overly religious, but appreciate subtle religious motivations.......just think original when you pick something out for me and I'm sure I'll love it!!!!

My wish list includes...........

*original envelopes - whether handmade or bought

*lace or ribbon - the more feminine the better - think classic and clean looking....

*deco tapes

*anything stamp oriented - love stamps but just getting into using them :)

*pretty much any misc items used to embellish ATC's

*patterns for making small and interesting boxes - to include matchboxes

*all things that have dramatic floral images - such as sunflowers, daisys, and beautiful brightly colored flowers - again, thinking classic and clean but certainly not gaudy :)

*anything with penguins on it :)

*bookmarks that are original - handmade or store bought

*some kind of original return address labels

*bling of any kind - I love to decorate with shimmers, bling, and anything "fancy"

*3D stickers of just about any kind!!!

*I'm very much into altering small boxes at the moment - so paints, painting related items, velvet papers, and fun embellishments would be great :)

*buttons.....a new interest of mine.....send anything unique and/or fun!!!

*any instructions or unique ideas for craft projects......

*if sending something with my daughter in mind, she loves to color and create with just about any medium - she's very girly and loves pinks and reds for sure! She is 6, but is a fairly mature crafter for her age - I'm sure she'll be much better than I am at many crafting methods :)

My please don't send list is short........

*food and/or candy....I'm kind of picky about that kind of stuff - mints, gum, and that type of thing would be great, but anything else you would probably be better off sending to someone else :)

*please no make-up....again, I'm a little picky and would like to make sure things don't go to waste when they're sent to me!!!!

On a final note......if you don't receive something from me I'll either be sending you a pm to check and see why I haven't heard from you and/or you can pm me - because I never want anyone to go without due to me in any way - if we decide something is permanently lost, I'll send you something again myself - I want everyone to be happy that swaps with me :)
