I'm happy to do private embroidery swaps! I'd love to trade a very time-intensive, beautiful work that is made especially for me for something of the same.
I'd also like to be a penpal to anyone who's interested!
I love anything art nouveau, owls, nature-inspired art, and needlecrafts!!
I'm 21 years old, and attend California State University, Chico. I'm a year away from my bachelor's degree in Humanities. I have 1/3 of my A.J.P. degree from GIA completed; I love jewelry and gems. I'm married, and my husband has two daughters who live with us full time. I love autumn and winter. I love to swim. I have two cats and one dog. I love doing anything new and different, except when it comes to people. I fail at social situations usually, and am only comfortable with a select few. I've noticed I tend to inhabit unusual situations and am, in fact, drawn to them.
I love crafting; it completely relaxes me. I love reading, watching new films, embroidering, speaking Italian, learning Chinese, sewing, gardening, roses, sleeping as much as possible, and in general trying to enjoy life.
I really, really love books and have always from a very early age. Classic literature, poetry, adult fiction, historical romance novels, books about England in all its different guises and eras. (I'm a bit of an anglophile and I really can't explain it. It's something about the history and culture.)
Sleigh Bells, Mumford and Sons, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, The Smiths, The Cure, Death Cab For Cutie, Coldplay, Radiohead, Muse, She Wants Revenge, Snow Patrol.
I listen to the classical station mostly because of the utter lack of decent radio in my area. I really like Baroque chamber music, what with its rather dramatic sound, Italian 16th century violin pieces, and Erik Satie's Gnosiennes.
Embroidery, sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting. I also build dollhouses and collect miniatures, but that's on the back burner for now.
I really like embroidery subjects that are a little unusual or traditional in a skewed way. I love to play with color in my work. Yes, I have a bit of a floss fetish; I have a box of 100 different colors. I have way too many works in progress right now.
I love pretty much all genres, except for super mainstream (and thus simplified, in my opinion) movies and horror films. Above all, I love British period dramas and miniseries. Some of my favorites are North & South, The Forsyte Saga, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Pride & Prejudice, Gosford Park, Wives and Daughters, Remains of the Day. (I think my anglophilia's showing...) I like engrossing films that take you to a different era and a different place.
Owls, woodland creatures. Anything unusual, "vintage", or kind of odd. Dark, bold colors like black, gray, purple, green, brown, blue or burgundy, especially when contrasted with lighter colors. Personalized things. Simple designs. Symmetry. Miniature, adorable things. Organic shapes. Foreign things. Elegant things. Nonsensical things. Quality. Embroidery!!
Bright, unattractive colors. Frivolous things that are way too cutesy for their own good. (Though just the right amount of cuteness is desirable.) Mass-produced things. Slapdash things. Things that are aesthetically lacking. (Why make something ugly when you could make it beautiful instead?)

Have you mailed to me? Nothing has arrived, that's all, and I am wondering if the Postal Monster has eaten it. Don't fret if not - life is made of busyness and hard work. Hope you are well in either case, and looking forward to hearing from you x
Sure, no worries :) I'm back at my London address - looking forward to hearing from you, and hope you've had a good summer :)
Hello! I don't really build dollhouses and I am just a beginner embroiderer, but I'm so curious about your artwork! Do you have a blog or Flickr where you share your creations? I'd love to see this Tennyson dollhouse, etc...
Sorry for being so nosy, but your profile piqued my curiosity. :)
Your letter is totally now in the mail - sorry for being so very, very late. I just moved back home so have been very busy.

Patrizia
OK then, I look forward to it :)
