I live in the Boston area.
I have a masters in Library and Information Science.
I contribute/have contributed to several wikis (editable websites) including wikiHow and Recipes Wiki.
I love cooking, but don't have enough time to spend in the kitchen.
My favorite color is purple. I also love maroon, silver, red, pink, teal, sea/mint greens and navy.
I like shopping at Trader Joe's, local thrift shops, Target and Dollar Tree.
I like to play video games and own a Nintendo DS.
I'm trying to start up writing again, so anything that would help with that (books about writing, writing exercise ideas) would be much appreciated.
I have diverse tastes in music, but my favorite genres are indie rock and electronica. Some of my favorite artists include: They Might Be Giants, the New Pornographers, Of Montreal, Depeche Mode, the Pet Shop Boys, OK Go, Pansy Division, Air, Tori Amos, Ladytron and Stereo Total.
My favorite classical composer is Chopin.
I love finding out about new bands through Pandora. I'm also always on the lookout for new music.
Since I do a lot of how-to and lifestyle writing I would love to receive cookbooks (particularly ones for healthy food) and how-to books (preferably beginner craft books or anything that was originally written pre-1923 or that's out of copyright). I would also appreciate any books about yoga (particularly a non-Iyengar style like Kripalu) and/or meditation. I have to start taking vitamins and have no clue what the differences are between different brands, so I would love a good reference book about vitamins,
Some of my favorite authors are Armistead Maupin (Tales of the City), Banana Yoshimoto (Kitchen), Nick Hornby (How to Be Good, About a Boy) and Barbara Kingsolver (Bean Trees, Prodigal Summer, Poisonwood Bible). I also love books about vampires. I would love to get Charlaine Harris' Club Dead or Breaking Dawn from the Twilight series.
Chick lit authors I really like include Marian Keyes, Jennifer Weiner and Candace Bushnell.
For non-fiction, I love Barbara Ehrenreich. I also love memoirs, including those of Jennifer Lancaster, David Sedaris, Nora Ephron and Sloane Crossley.
I really love manga, particularly Boys Over Flowers, Chobits, Peach Girl and Skip Beat among others.
I also like to read books about food, such as Julia Child's My Life in France, Julie & Julia and Ruth Reichl's Garlic and Sapphires.
Amelie, Network, Shall We Dance, Eat Drink Man Woman, Tampopo, Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Fair Lady, Heathers, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Blind Side
Weeds, the Simpsons, 30 Rock, Glee, Greek, Veronica Mars, True Blood, United States of Tara, Project Runway, Make it or Break it,
