I live together with my boyfriend and 2 cats in Berlin, Germany, since a couple of months. I come from the Netherlands, but my boyfriend is from here and he really wanted to go back, so we are trying Germany for a while :) We used to live in Amsterdam, where I studied at the art academy, to be a fashion designer, and graduated in July 2010! It was a really crazy busy year, with a lot of stress and not enough sleep, and hardly any swap-bot :) And now I live in Berlin... it takes a little getting used to. The city is really nice, but my German is not great yet, and I still have to find my way a bit, but I'm pretty sure it will be ok. :) I have a lot of free time at the moment, so enough time for swap-bot!
I really love all sorts of nice papers. I like to make small books of whatever material that comes by.
I like drawing, but am not as good at it as I would want to. My favorite illustrator is Julie Verhoeven.
I like a lot of 'textile' crafts, I like knitting and embroidery. I just bought a knitting machine (am super excited about it!), but haven't had time to really get in to that yet. I like working with textiles and different textile techniques, and always try to find interesting combinations.
I always have to buy nice yarns. But almost never use them, because I want to wait for the perfect moment. (trying to just get over that!) Same with nice papers, can't have enough, have boxes full. I even worked at a shop that sold mostly paper... :)
I learned of a whole bunch of new crafts after joining swap-bot, and I really like to give it all a try. So I have been making ATC's, inchies and Skinnies. I just made my first dotee doll. And am now working on an art journal!
oh! and since I studied to be a fashion designer I kinda like sewing to... :)
I like (old) jazz and french 'pop' music the most. And I have to admit I really enjoy listening to top 40 music from the last 30 years or so and sing a long, haha...
I like to read a lot and a lot of different sorts of books, just whatever comes by actually. So fantasy, fiction and non-fiction novels, and some chicklit every now and then. Of course I've read everything from Harry Potter! :) If you look at my book case it is just a big mix of everything, but I try to put the serious impressive books on eye level to make a good impression ;)
With movies it is a bit the same as with books... I like: 'Amelie', 'Science of sleep', '500 days of summer', 'Lost in translation', 'you, me and everyone we know' and pretty much everything from Tim Burton.
I like: pink, blues, red, purple, (off) white.
not a big fan of: neon colors
have to think what else...
I have put up my etsy favorites, not because I expect you to buy me something from that list. But just to give an idea about what sort of things I like, for when you think you could use some more information or something :)
