I still work full time but I am a married mother of two adult children and paint as much as I can in my free time. I also bicycle for exercise and have 4 cats that share my home with me and my husband. I travel to Italy about once a year and am bilingual.
I love cats, horses, the color orange and red. I don't watch TV and I don't scrapbook, but I enjoy watching movies. I love classical music (like Paganini, Vivaldi, Bach...) but I also like obscure folk music including fiddle music and other strange stuff like Accordions (in the Italian or Irish traditions).
What I really want here is the promise of friendship and old fashioned letter writing and mail exchanges. That's why I joined.
I'm not sure what to put on a wish list right now. but here's an attempt:
I love classics, hahaha I can't think of titles. Some of my all time favorites include "Wild Swans" by Jung Chang anything by Giovanni Verga, Eric Newby, Carlo Levi... Sometimes I read books meant for teenagers, and I read a lot of non-fiction.
Besides painting, I also enjoy making envelopes. Many years ago, a cousin sent me a hand crafted envelope using a pretty page out of a magazine. Ever since then, I've found getting mail to be the highlight of my day and I strive to make mail that I am sending pleasant for the recipients. I've been known to refinish cabinets, paint rooms, and carve crayons. You never know. I've also been a potter, but I never got very good.
I don't really like smelly stuff, unless it happens to be fresh roses. :-)
I got mail!! This came today (my husband sent me this photo) and I can't wait to get home and open it!
Just got back from two weeks in Italy. Time to start swapping again! and how nice it was to discover that so many of my penpals wrote to me while I was gone. I will be answering their letters one by one this week. :)

Well, yes. But you replied the day AFTER I sent it. That's some quick mail. XD

Hi! I just wanted to leave a note of thanks and let you know that I received the amazing crow painting you sent. I absolutely LOVE it. You are a very talented artist :-) I am off to get it framed today, and will display it proudly in my home. Thank you, again, my friend, for sending me such a beautiful work of art.
Aaaaaand YOU are my hundredth heart! Thank you so much for rating and for a very special heart :) I'm glad you like the card - I enjoyed making that one as I love bird-theme tags and ATCs.
Haha... glad you like it! :D I had a lot of fun making them! Including the envelop :)
I received your atc (from the make an atc for my favorite theme tag). It's beautiful! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! thank you! (also, I had a difficult time making myself get to open it in the first place because i was so mesmerized by all the pretty stamps!hee hee!)
What an amazing, amazing envelope!! I ADORE the dinosaur. And writing backwards! What a funny thing. I can imagine learning to write left-handed would be hard though. I love love love the stamps and I posted a picture of your envelope here. Thanks again! Oh, PS - can you remind me what tag that was for?? Swappers Start Here Group I assume. Just can't remember which tag game. :)
Many thanks for the heart and the star for our handmade postcard swap. I'll be replying to your note very soon - just finished a week of painting. Sadly only a room - not beautiful watercolours!
Thank you very much for the random envie from random envie tag! :D
Thanks for the air mail envies and stamps!! Very nice. I didn't know that the ones from Italy have red and green stripes around the edges, but it makes sense :-)
