No more POSTCARDS!!!! Front door is full of my SB buddies cards. Running out of room. I have done swaps on other scrapbook sites. They have been fun to do. I like trading small items, making cards for other people etc. I'm house bound so this gives me something to look forward to coming in the mail. I'm love making handmade cards. I'm currently making my 4th set of cards to go to Iraq. I've been on my church's mail route for 5+ years where I sent out messages w/ a handmade card each month. I make almost all of my gifts for family & friends. I also do some scrapbk. I'm working on journal tags for my dau'ghters baby pic's for C-mas. I also need to start coming up w/ page ideas for my son's birthday scrapbook for C-mas. I gave up candle making since I now on 0-2. I made up my last big batch of candles last spring. I sold over 3 boxes of candle supplies last spring to buy card supplies. I have finished 2 Southwest ceramic candle votives holders I designed of Mt Franklin , here in El Paso. I need to finish up my Wedding Indian jar for my husband's gift. I have done ceramics over 35 yrs. I'm having to give it up since I'm losing hand strength & coordination. I'm a mother of 4 grown kids & 3 grandkids. I have written stories, made them books & have s/bk items for them for the future for them to keep. I scrapbook my son a chipboard book of C-mas "seen thru the eyes of a child "for his C-mas last year which he loved. I love exploring new media in the area of papercrafts.. I'm not in to the gadgets. I love coloring w/ my Prism c/pencils,water color pencils,Sakura pens & gels pens. I like doing distressing w/ Ranger alcohol inks,stamping w/various ink pads,making marbllize alcohol b'grounds,expermenting w/ various paper techniques found on the web I will be trying new stamp tech. w/my Stampscapes stamps for my C-mas cards. I must had not gotten enough of coloring ,cutting &pasting in school. My .siginature. is bear49,don't wait till you are 59 yrs. old to find your talents & go after your dreams. I t has taken me years to develop the hidden artist in me. I'm the happiest when I'm in my room playing w/my toys making something for someone else. It's the only way I can make sense of my body falling apart. It helps me focus in on what I can DO not what I CAN''T do anymore.

I,m the Texas Maverick,,I make 1 of a kind hand-made cards.I live in El Paso Tx. I hate the long hot summers here,I'm not a desert rat. The people here are warm & friendly so it makes up for it. I'm a Texas native, & I luv my wide open spaces. I have lived in many states. I lived in British Columbia,Canada for a year when I was 24 yrs old I luv the Canadian people. I also lived in Alaska for 6 mo's. I have s/bk 75 pgs of photo' w/journal enteries of this experience. I'm a disabled(post-poilo) mother of 4 grown kids & 3 grandkids. I like trying different kinds of food & exploring different cultures. I'm trying to pick up new Spanish words since we're on the Mexican border. El Paso is over 60% Mexican pop. It's getting harder for me since I'm now have to be gluten free, no flour ,wheat etc. I'm also lactose intolerant, no ice cream!! I also can't have foods w/ any corn products in it, corn syrup is in e/thing in the US. I also can't have any foods w/ salt, or peanuts in it. I have lost alot of my favorite foods. I do love fresh fruits & vegetables. I do love my sweet potatoes & okra which are Southern foods.I cook mainly from scratch. I have been cooking since I was13 yrs old. My 2 dogs George & Fluffy are my faithful lap buddies. I be lost w/out them. they are both animal rescue dogs. They are my spoiled kids.

So SAD pulled off Numbers, Law & Order, Criminal Intent. II luv 2 CSI shows,Law & Order, SUV comes in 2nd,,Numbers,Lost Criminal Intent. I miss without a Trace. I like the geeky math prof. on Numbers reminds me of my hubbie when younger. He had a full hair of curly hair when younger. He's a programmer & my kids are geeks!! I don't like CSI Maimi,became too much of a soap opera.I got tired of House. I liked the medical part w/ the mystery illness etc. but haven't liked the way the show has gone.

I would like to do swaps for items to use for my card route to Iraq. I having to switch from female cards to masculine theme. I'm on a limited budget because of medical bills. Ft. Bliss is an Army base here that sends alot of troops to Iraq. This is my way of supporting the troops & my community service.

I've read all the Thoene series, I have all of John Grisham books in paperback. I'm a big fan of historical fiction, mainly Civil War. I have read al ot of history on Civil War, Revo. War,WWII, Holocust books.. My favo. ones are the stories of those who hid the Jews . @ the peril of their own lives. I like reading old Nat'l Geo. magazines. & being an arm chair traveler. I have read some of the Jane Austin books. I have read some English & American classics. Charles Dickens is my favo. Eng. author. I do like Sherlock Holmes also. I like Robert Frost's poetry.,it appeals to the senses, I love the feel it gives U. I don't like horror, science fiction or fantasy. I do like like a good mystery if the book is clean, not vulgar etc.

Gone w/ the Wind is my all time favo. I also watched the Green Gables series several times. I'm a fan of animated films. I luv the donkey in Shriek We're watching the old Little Rascals CD collection. I luv those, I get a big kick out of them Watching the collection of Without A Trace also.

I like doing trades with people here. I usually mail my stuff out on Sat's. when DH goes to the P.O. for me. I appreciate a PM if U got my stuff. If U don't receieve s/thing please let me know

Flakers,zero tolerance. I don't mind a Pm telling me U be late. Not returning my message will give U a 1!! If I take the time to do a swap I expect U to do the same. I only do a few swaps @ a time I didn't do anything in Dec. because I had too many projects to do.. I now have a n/book w/sections on who I sent to & who owes.me
