I am a 33 year old single mum who is in love with receiving mail and this has rubbed off onto my 6 year old son Charlie. We both love postcrossing, reading, watching movies and being outdoors.

I am studying to become a primary school teacher/early educator. It has been my dream since I was a young child and now I am finally brave enough to accomplish it. It is hard work but I am loving it. I think I want to become a kindergarten teacher instead of primary school but will wait and see what job opportunities arise once I'm qualified. Once I am teaching my own class I will be bringing swapping and postcrossing into my classroom.

My hobbies include - reading (my goal is to read 52 books this year), watching car racing especially speedway, travelling, watching movies, completing puzzles (word or jigsaw), watching most sports and listening to music. I love to spend time with family and friends as well. I enjoy penpalling (Australia and overseas) and I also like postcrossing. I love the idea that you are going to receive a postcard from somewhere random in the world.

I like learning about different places, cultures, people. I like to explore new places and meet different people along the way. I can't travel as much as I would like to due to being a single mother, but that does not deter me from my dreams. I have travelled to Phuket (Thailand) and Kuta (Bali). In 2014 I went on a cruise by myself as a present for turning 30....travelled to New Caledonia. I am now wanting to take my son on a cruise (possibly to New Zealand). I have travelled around Victoria, Australia a bit and have decided that once a year I will travel to a place that we have never been to before and spend a few nights/days exploring!

My family play an important role in my life. They are always there supporting me, making me laugh or just giving me a cuddle when I need one. I have a little nephew who turned 1 in June and he is my world. Being an aunty for the first time is the best thing that could have happened to me, apart from motherhood.

I like setting goals for myself - whether they be travel goals, book reading goals or weight loss goals.

I have had lapband surgery in December 2014 and since September 2014 I have lost 52kgs. I am happy with the progress and becoming happier with myself. I struggle with depression and anxiety, sometimes not being able to leave the house. So this is where mail comes in handy for me.

I have made some awesome friendships via penpalling and the reason why I started was because I suffered post natal depression and could not leave the house. Penpalling became my life and now I have been penpalling for close to 4 years.

Favourite book of 2015 was Risk by Fleur Ferris and I recommend anyone to read it because it is about teenagers meeting with strangers from online chat rooms. Favourite book so far this year would be The Golden Child by Wendy James. I DO NOT LIKE SCI-FI or FANTASY! But am willing to give it a go.
