My name is Noel, and I am 21 years old.
Papercrafting is my passion, baking is my joy, and fashion design is my way of life.
I love learning new crafts and gaining new skills.
I enjoy reading histories, biographies, and short story anthologies.
I love to travel the world, discovering new places and cultures.
I'm addicted to chocolate, especially dark.
I could wander museums, aquariums, and flea markets for days and days.
I am obsessed with royal histories, especially the Tudor monarchs.
I love word games and brain teasers.
I find beauty and inspiration in every day!
I would love to receive....
Vintage ephemera (books pages, greeting cards, postcards, stamps, etc)
European fashion magazines, especially Vogue
Something unique to your city/country (outside US) Nothing really touristy, though.
Sewing craft patterns
Vintage sewing patterns for clothing
Cute or interesting pincushions
Embroidery floss
Unique tape measures (the flexible sewing kind, not the retractable ones)
Sewing supplies (fabric scraps, trims, etc)
Pretty fabric, at least 1/4 yard
Cupcake liners or cake decorating supplies
Cute/unique cookie cutters
Recipes, especially for desserts
Craft or cooking magazines or books
Candies unique to your area (or anything I cannot purchase in the US)
Dotee Dolls
Paper Dolls (handmade or store bought)
Blank postcards and notecards
Interesting playing cards (especially unique face cards, whole decks or individual cards)
ATCs, Row Houses, Chunky Houses, Altered Books, Chunky Book Pages
Old books pages (French or English please!), dictionary pages, interesting vintage or foreign children's book pages (not Disney, or any kind of character or TV series though, please!)
Prima flowers or bling
Rubber stamps (mounted or unmounted)
Ink pads, alcohol inks, embossing powders
Burt's Bees samples, coupons, products
Cameos of all types, on jewelry or not, as I can use them for crafting. I especially would love a cameo ring, size 5 or 6.
Anything related to Tudor history, the Six Wives of Henry VIII, Alice in Wonderland, mermaids, fairy tales, nursery rhymes, teacups (but not tea!), Monet, Marie Antoinette, the Victorian era, Paris, Eiffel Tower, fashion, Chanel, Russian nesting dolls, ladybugs, or poppies
My style can be described as vintage, eclectic, and shabby chic. Anything of these and I am almost certain to like it!
Things I would prefer not to receive...
Coffee or tea, or anything coffee or tea flavored
Anything with snakes or lizards.... don't like them much
Tarot cards or anything related to fortune telling
Anything Twilight, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Anime, Disney Characters (unless listed in likes above), Kawaii type characters (Hello Kitty, etc)
Anything religious (unless Christian, as that is my faith) I'm open and accepting of everyone else's beliefs, however, I would prefer not to receive items in my swaps
I'm a complete bookworm at heart, though, sadly, college has sucked up all my fun reading time and replaced it with icky textbook studying time.
I mentioned that I love short story anthologies (Stephen King compares a short story to a fleeting romantic love affair), biographies (mostly of historical royal persons), and random histories (of anything from fashion to diseases).
I also read quite a bit of fiction, and some of my favorites are as follows: Little Women, The Awakening, Madame Bovary, My Cousin Rachel, Brave New World, And Then There Were None, The Great Gatsby, Special Topics in Calamity Physics, and basically anything by Michael Crichton and Stephen King. Also, I love original fairy tales, like those of the Grimm brothers.
I love historical fiction, mostly those centered around European royal courts. Not the Harlequin romance type books, though. Also, while I enjoy reading Phillipa Gregory's novels, I am often times appalled by the historical inaccuracy of some of them. However, they make for fun reads.
Two of my favorites on the planet that I have read over and over and over are The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Though, sadly, the film versions of each of these depressed me greatly. I will also make a note here that Anne Rice's books are the only vampire novels I have read, aside from Dracula.
Did I mention that I could watch movies every single day? And that I pretty much love all genres, so much so that Netflix gets extremely confused when suggesting movies to me....
I have many favorites, but I shall list only a few here so you can get the idea: The Prestige, The Matrix, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Back to the Future trilogy, Chicago, Little Women, The Assassination of Jesse James, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Breakfast Club, Sabrina (old and new), Breakfast at Tiffany's, Fifth Avenue Girl, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, You've Got Mail, Beauty and the Beast, The Princess and the Frog, Cruel Intentions, Airplane!, Marie Antoinette, Elizabeth, Anne of the Thousand Days, 27 Dresses, The Great Mouse Detective, Runaway Bride, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, First Knight, Ever After, Taking Lives, Forrest Gump...
See, it's so random. Also, I'll watch basically any musical.
I get sort of crazy with my TV shows. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can come between us.
My entire childhood was dedicated to a bizarre combination of Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Boy Meets World, and Muppet Babies. These are still some of my favorite shows in the world, even if Muppet Babies is no longer available to me. :(
My current shows that I absolutely never miss are Fringe, Bones, House, Lie to Me, Gossip Girl, The Office, and Glee.
And my favorite shows of times gone by are Alias, Smallville (it's still on but I quit when Michael Rosenbaum did), Eli Stone, Jericho, and the Tudors.
I occasionally watch Project Runway and quite like the Amazing Race. Aside from that, I really don't watch reality tv, and as such, people are always referencing things from the Jersey Shore and one of the many housewife shows that leave me having no idea what anyone is talking about. Oh well, no harm done there.
