I'm an engineer who dabbles in all kinds of crafting. Right now I'm working on my first quilt, a gift for my niece. It is a mix of embroidered and patchworks squares and I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product. I just heard about swapping, but it looks like a fantastic way to get new inspiration.
I mostly read sci-fi and fantasy books. Right now I am anxiously awaiting the next Jim Butcher book. I am also in love with Anne Bishop, Jeaniene Frost, and Patricia Briggs.
I love to bake and I am hoping to find some new recipes. Health and taste are my priorities (versus appearance). Cookie and dessert recipes are my favorite.
I have yet to run into a craft that I don't like. I dabble in a bunch.
Cardmaking - I have made handmade cards for Christmas and birthdays, and I am always looking for cool paper and cute stamps (I am only interested in Christmas or non-holiday/non-special occasion stamps)
Sewing - I worked with my Mother on projects from a very young age, and am currently making my first solo quilt. I have also made bags, skirts, and other small projects. I am interested in fun fabrics, including scraps and new project ideas.
Embroidery - I just finished embroidery nine squares for my niece's quilt. For every one that I did, I liked it more and more. I would love to swap embroidery patterns or projects.
Crochet/Knitting - I think my problem with crochetting is that I haven't been using good yarn. I don't like the way that acrylic yarn feels, so I think I need to try more cotton yarn and other natural fibers. Let me know if you have suggestions for good yarns. :)
I have also done some woodworking and machining, but I no longer have the tools available to make this practical.
I like pop music that is significantly influenced by folk and country.

While You Were Sleeping
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
The Office
House M.D.
Venture Brothers
I like a simple color palette; I love 2 color quilts, black and white fabrics, and sparsely patterned fabrics. I don't get really excited about busy prints, but I always love red and white polka dots.
I like flavored black teas and chai teas, and if I'm in a tea swap, I'm always ok with loose leaf even if the swap says bagged only.
