Knitting - lace, socks, hats, mittens, gloves & sweaters - no cotton or synthetics; Spinning - wool, silk, alpaca only - no cotton or bast fibers; Weaving - newbie As a fiber fanatic, I really only work with natural fibers (no aakrilic) and I can't knit with cotton because it makes my hands, wrists and elbows ache.
I'm a 40-something real estate professional and mom to 2, and evil step-mom to 2, living in suburban Philadelphia. I've been knitting since I was 6, spinning for about 12 years and weaving (on & off) for 2 years. In addition to my kids and fiber, I also enjoy gardening and home renovations.
There are too many to list! My tastes run from Terry Pratchet to Laurell K Hamilton, with lots of segues in between. I am an avid reader as well as an avid audio book listener.
Also owned by a cat and dog. Enjoy chocolate, tea (never coffee) and good wine. Never leave home without earrings, but nothing gaudy or huge.
When it comes to color, I like deep, clear, saturated colors. I like both jewel tones and harvest colors, not necessarily in the same piece. I am not a light, pastel kinda girl.
