I'm a 35 year old library technician and poet. I am abundantly creative and innovative. I come up with ideas for projects very easily. However, since I have a full-time job, lengthy commute, and attend graduate school, I don't have nearly as much time to accomplish crafty things as I'd like. My goal for swap-bot is not to take on more than three swaps at a time because I hate the feeling of being in over my head.
Wilco, The Beatles, Paul Simon/Simon & Garfunkel, Leonard Cohen, The Pretenders, Gillian Welch, Pulp, Old 97's, Rhett Miller, Tom Waits, Ryan Adams, Whiskeytown, Neil Young, Elvis Costello, Nick Cave, Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Woody Guthrie, Patti Smith, Sam Cooke, Kasey Chambers, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, and many others – I like old country music, French pop from the sixties, classic R&B, and hip-hop that uses deft, literary word-play and has a fairly positive message.
My favorite novel is A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith. I read voraciously, probably average of 2 novels or full-length non-fiction books per week. I also love young adult fiction, short stories, and graphic novels. I read a lot of poetry -- my book collection contains more poetry than anything else (except maybe cookbooks). I collect reference books, too, especially those to do with language and creative writing.
I'm not a big movie buff, but I like Jim Jarmusch and Wes Anderson films. I usually like movies starring Parker Posey. My favorite old movie is A Streetcar Named Desire. My favorite semi-recent movie is Y Tu Mama Tambien.
The Office (both U.S. and U.K. versions), 30 Rock, What Not to Wear (U.S. version), Cash Cab, Jeopardy, Antiques Roadshow (U.S. version), It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother. Favorite old shows: Laverne & Shirley, Family Ties, The Brady Bunch.
card-making, scrapbooking, and other papercrafts -- cartooning -- artist books -- knitting (but I suck) -- crochet (I barely know how) -- embroidery -- anything to do with music. I prefer crafts that defy genre and combine more than one element. The more complicated the better, although I still like the actual work to be easy.
Anything religious (including pagan/wiccan) -- anti-choice or other right-wing propaganda -- Disney or other commercial characters -- chamomile tea (I am allergic).
sharks, photos, books, literary fiction & poetry, young adult and intermediate lit, writing exercises, stickers, old country music, mid-60s hairstyles and fashion (mod), innovative ideas, colors: red, black, silver, bright blues and greens, charcoal grey.
proselytizing about religion, lying, cheating, rudeness, the inability to at least attempt to see someone else's side, show-offs, bullying. My number one peeve is FLAKINESS, so if something is going to be late, please please please just let me know. I am very understanding as long as there is communication, but if there is no communication, I take that as a lack of respect for me. Taking more than a week to rate is kind of lame, too -- people want to know that you got their swap, dig?

I look forward to receiving the "Journal". I liked what you had to say about doing one project at a time, very nice. Lots of times we just throw things together to get them done, I appreciate your dilegence
So glad that you received the postcard! Hope you enjoy all your future swaps here on Swap-Bot!
I just got a postcard from vocabulary postcard from someone named sharkycharming but don't see anyone named that on my partners to rate. There is a libraryshark...is that you? Let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. Thanks, Chrissy32 ([email protected])
