Let me introduce myself - Mergs is a nickname given to me by my father when I was a wee-smally-type! (It's stuck!) I live in a large rural city in western New South Wales which is at state of eastern Australia. I was excited to discover the Swap-bot site, as I love to receive snail mail especially parcels and magazines - anything that's not a bill! My favourite things include reading novels, and listening to many types of music. I enjoy watching romantic comedies and period dramas.

I love paper crafts - especially card making. I also embroider, cross stitch and am learning to machine sew. I collect stationery and look forward to sharing this passion with others. I love everything from papers to clips to stickers to all types writing equipment, pencils, felt tips, markers you name it! I've recently discovered rub-ons and clear unmounted stamps! Wow - the options! What fun!! My colour palette revolves around shades of blue and green, but I love experimenting with patterns and colour combinations. As a swap-botter I have discovered and love to create ATCs. They are also a wonderful way of receiving a small piece of someone else's creativity.

Things I do (not crafty): play the flute; walk for enjoyment and exercise; play games for the mind - crosswords, sudoku, trivia etc; teach children (5-12 years) and love spending time with my husband and 2 cats (these are our spoiled children!). I have collections of Minton porcelain, Swarovski crystal and silver bracelets with charms - Pandora included.

My iPod is full of alternative '80s, laid back '70's, cool jazz, classical, as well as, recent releases. You won't find any country, rap or techno!

I most enjoy detective stories, true crime anything that makes you think! I also love to revisit the classics such as Bronte, Austen, Chaucer, Wilde etc. And as an occupational hazard, good children's literature and picture books.

A healthy diet of British comedy (both old and new), game shows and documentaries.

I love cats as pets and animals, but I don't collect them nor am I fussed on their images on things. (Dragonflies seem more appealing, graceful & elegant.) I enjoy flowers in gardens and cut in arrangements but I'm not into floral prints or flowery scents. I much prefer patterns and spicy fragrances. I love food especially sweet things (jubes and chocolate are favourites) and I'm allergy free.
