About Me

Hiya! I'm 29 years old and live in Germany. My life revolves around teaching English, traveling, food and making art. I enjoy swapping and creating snailmail to unwind :)

I am a very reliable swapper and will always send swaps on time. Please send me a private message if you think something went wrong regardless - I will glady resend items, but I ask you to please contact me before giving me a bad rating. Although Germany has an excellent (and for the most part quite reliable) postal system, it is not uncommon for swaps to take 4-6 weeks to arrive at overseas destinations, especially if they're sent as "economy".

I pledge to rate my swap partners as soon as I receive their swap. If you haven't heard from me, this means I haven't received your swap.

Please note: I mark my swaps as "sent" whenever I drop them off into a mailbox. These mailboxes might not be emptied and the swaps stamped until the day after (or the Monday after, if it's the weekend). If you find that a swap has been stamped later than the "sent" date, it is due to that. I always try to get my swaps out before the deadline so as not to run into any problems, though :)

If you've miraculously been assigned as my partner in two swaps simultaneously, feel free to save on postage and send your swaps in one envelope :)

Also! The address I have provided on here is my PO box. If you intend to send me a piece of mail bigger than a large bubble wrap envelope (e.g. a box, or a package), please let me know so I can give you my home address. Large boxes or packages cannot be delivered to my PO box and for some stupid reason, the post office won't notify me when they do get sent there but don't fit in the box. I'd hate for your mail to get lost.

Why I'm here & what I like

I've had pen pals from all across the globe since my early teen years. Exchanging mail and small gifts has sparked my interest in learning about how people live in different parts of the world, the languages they speak, the things they collect, the food they enjoy, the art they make and the passions they carry. I will try to go out of my way to make people happy - I hope this passion will show in the things I send.

❀ I love collecting recipes and learning about the foods you (and your family) enjoy. Send me a recipe card and tell me a little bit about why you enjoy making this dish, where you learned about it, etc. and you will make me very happy! If the recipe calls for special seasoning, why not share some with me? :) Nothing makes me more excited than experimenting in the kitchen!

❀ I have recently been getting into drawing and sketching again. I enjoy watercolor painting, and sketching with (colored) pencils and black ink pens. Maybe one day I'll feel brave enough to share my art with the world or send it in my swaps.

❀ I love gardening - both my parents are gardeners and I grew up around flowers and plants. Watching plants grow from seeds fills me with such excitement. I would love to receive anything that's related to botanicals and, of course seeds from your country - flowers, vegetables, fruits, anything!

❀ I'm a language teacher (German and English) and one day will find time to learn additional languages. You can make me very happy if you write down a note in a language you speak that isn't German or English and teach me what it means :)

I consider it common courtesy not to send items I wouldn't like receiving myself (such as poor quality items, broken, ripped or torn, etc.) - after all, we're all here to enjoy swapping and bring joy to our swap partners. That being said - I'm not too picky (because I can always pass on things I don't have a use for), but these are items that I prefer less:

♦ free/ad and touristic postcards, I have a ton of postcards from places I've never been to and will probably never use them.

♦ Valentine's Day stickers or stickers, die cuts, postcards, etc. that say "I love you"

♦ overly cute things (kawaii is fine), cartoons or childish characters and Disney-related items

♦ photos of animals (illustrations are fine)

♦ anything that smells like nicotine

♦ bookmarks (I have too many and only ever use one)

♦ religious items

♦ anything with clowns, fairies, dragons, medieval, ...

♦ magazine cut-outs (unless from Flow magazine and unless the swap calls for it)

Flakers & Angels

I'm sad I have to include this section in my profile. However, anyone who has offered to angel in a swap you've been flaked in deserves a special shout-out, so this section is for you β™₯

Comment: Yes you right you wrote me few days ago... I’m sorry going to wait for your mail... Ag.-30 thank you so much I love the washi samples. Finally it made it... πŸ’™
Response: I sent you a message a few weeks ago and asked if you had received the washi tapes and my letter. I also asked if you entered the correct address, since it seemed that none of the mail you were sent was received. I would gladly resend and am honestly very disappointed to receive a rating like this from you, when I already reached out a while ago. Please do send me another message with your correct address and I will happily resend the tapes.
Comment: Thanks Silvia! Your sticker bag is so cute and I am really impressed by your calligraphy. Hope you get lots of great stickers when it comes back to you.

It'll still be hot here when you come later this month. You might get to see one of our spectacular monsson storms, but so far this season has been really dry. We're hoping for more. If you get down to Phoenix, be sure to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens. One of my favorite places to visit here. ALso the Musical Instrument Museum in north Phoenix is amazing! None like it in the world.
