Hello from the United States of America from the great State of Nebraska "The Good Life". I am the mother of three incredibly wonderful children (25,21,16) and the wife to my high school sweetheart for 22 years. I have always been interested in Art. I won coloring and handwriting contests that brought me a colorful collection of smelly stickers. I wish this is how simple life could be now, but then I reached adulthood and many things have transpired. I began an Art Therapy Class for Cancer Survivors and caretakers back in 2009. I lost my mother to her battle with metastatic breast cancer in December 2009, 5 months after being diagnosed. I had this belief that this happens to other people and somehow I would be spared. My mother was my best friend, mentor...she was my "everything"! That is when I have took an oath to become a stronge advocate to preach the importance of getting your mammograms yearly! I suddenly love the color pink and the use of the breast cancer ribbon, whether it is in the form of my jewlery, the pink shoes that I own or in the art I create. I feel I need to do this to call attention so that it will generate a coversation with people. I than let them know why I feel it is so important to have an annual check up, breast exam and to strongly advocate doing monthly self breast exams..most importantly to just know your body! I am fluent in English. I want to learn Spanish that I hope to one day take a college course to begin that journey. I love taking art classes and recently have taken calligraphy and an altered book class. I am very interested in Zentangles. I am a self taught Zentangler;) I have signed up to become a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! I love to create and do scrapbooks! I must not utilize my time efficiently because the only pages I have completed were the ones I have done at a scrapbooking club. Working fulltime does not allow alot of "me" time. I recently joined Postcrossings and got my first postcard from the Netherlands.
I love and will cherish all homemade items!!!!
I am a Licensed Practical Nurse that works as an Administrative Assistant at our local community hospital. I help with the Children's Immunization Clinics that occur each month. I live in a rural town of 2,017 people. I love to garden and spend time with my family. I love the vivid colors, sparkles, homemade postcards, black and white photography, markers and epherema. I really am not too picky of a person. I would love to see what others call their form of art.
My middle son just got sworn into the Army National Guard (April 2012) so anything relavant to the Armed Services, I also would enjoy getting.
I believe in the God and the power of prayer.

I enjoy oldies and R&B. Zapp & Roger, Nino Brown, Lowrider Oldies, the 80's, Gemini, (Lisa, Lisa & Cult Jam), Gapp Band, Drake, La Mafia, Mike Jones, Smokey Robinson, Ashanti and Rick James.
All Jackie Collins books, Patti Digh books, mixed media books, Zentangle books and my altered books.
The Color Purple, Purple Rain, The Lion King, Bambi, Love & Basketball, Man on Fire, Untamed Heart, Cheech & Chong movies, all Madea movies.
ID Channel, BET, jewlery channels, history channels, animal channel.
Scrapbooking, Altering books, calligraphy, mixed media art. I am a Stampin' Up demonstator. I just signed up in January. Looking at Ed Hardy drawings and redrawing the design in my style. Zentangling.
Halloween, Goth, anything on the dark side.
Although, I do love animals I would prefer art rather than cat, dog, horse, etc. photos.
Foam stickers.
Putting in a whole group of the same thing. For instance, 12 colors of the same paper, etc. We all like variety:) Or at least I do:)
I always will send my swaps. If you don't get something within two weeks of the send date, send me a message. If something is damaged, missing, or didn't have enough postage, send me a message and I promise to make every effort to get it corrected. It's all about the customer service. If anything is wrong with a swap package, let me know so I can fix it.
However, remember that once a package goes into the post office, I no longer have control over it - the USPS does. I mail from my town which goes to a regional center (North Platte) for sorting and postmarking. I will mark all my swaps "sent" the day I make my own personal appearance at the post office and know that it is sent.
If you get a swap from me, please let me know that you received it. I truly want to know that you got the swap, because paying extra for delivery confirmation is not something I want to do or think should have to do. If it comes to that I will need to move on. I joined "Swap-bot" for a fun hobby, so I want to keep it that way. Plus, I would rather spend my money on my art supplies, markers, etc.
If you send to me and don't get rated by me, or hear from me, that means that I didn't get the package. I will always rate when I receive the swap package. I will respect your time and effort.
I love anything with chili peppers and for some reason the state of New Mexico intrigues me.

Every Ribbon Tells a Story.... I've seen women surrounded by family and friends, I've seen women arm in arm fighting a battle, I've seen battles that were lost but many more that have been won. I've seen faces that have shown fear, hope, success, and determination, I've seen fists pumping up in the air for a victory. I've seen them everywhere. On women and on men. It's amazing how a ribbon can mean so much. A meaning so different to each one. I'm one ribbon of many. Every ribbon tells a story... What's your story?
So glad you enjoyed your watermelon package!
Yes, I did catch the cancer ribbons. I just found out that my neighbor has breast cancer and many of my family members have faced it, whether successfully or not. Good addition, and again, beautiful work!
Hi Francisca! Welcome to Swap-Bot! So glad you're here! You are sooo going to LOVE it here! There are so many fun swaps, and this is such an amazing community of fun, talented, and creative people!
Welcome also to the 'I ♥heart♥ Mail Art - April' swap --- thank you for joining my swap! If you have any questions, please feel free to holler! Hope to 'meet you in the mail' often! :)
p.s. it is always a good idea to fill out your profile with as much information & detail as possible. All your likes, favourite colours, crafts, hobbies, wishlists, etc. The more specific info you have, the happier your mailbox will be! It makes it much easier for your swap partner to create/choose items that you suit you perfectly if you have a well filled-out profile. You will notice on most of the swaps that one of the main requirements is to have a well-filled out profile --- that is the case with this swap as well.
The more detail in your profile, the better the swaps will be for you and your partner!
You have a great start on it!
Happy Swapping! :)
