Hi, my name is Connor. I'm 24 and from Yorkshire. But I now live and work in the neighbouring Lancashire. I've lived here for about 3 years now.
I work as a junior software engineer, mostly helping programming sales systems for the odd company. I learned to do basic programming by my own accord in college. Then I later went on to study computer science at the University of Hull for 3 years.
At the moment, my favourite (combined) hobby is film photography and darkroom printing. The cameras I use are the Canon AE-1 Program (35mm), the Mamiya RB67 Pro (6x7) and I have managed to borrow a Micro Press with a 135mm lens to practice 4x5 on. I'm relatively new to 4x5 and really love the prospect of it. I hope to be able to print images from the few negatives I have already made using it. So far in the printing department, I have only been able to print in black and white. I do love black and white, but we have recently been experimenting direct colour positives in 4x5 which is exciting! My other love that I found my way to is English-style bell ringing at my local Cathedral. I rather miss it and the friends I made. I am able to ring some Sundays but it's only for a maximum of 15 minutes, unfortunately. It's better than the few months of nothing we had.
I have come here from Post Crossing because I wanted to extend my use of the postal system to writing letters to people I do not know yet. I really would like to get a response from someone via mail rather than the website's own messaging system. At least you feel like you have a bit more of a duplex connection with someone :)
I'm not one to toot my own horn, so please if you can think of a way to expand my profile, please let me know and I will do my best. I wish to find a pen pal, or at least start some sort of conversation with someone else.
Please stay safe and happy swapping!
