About Me

NEWS: Moving to Oregon in December with only what I can afford to ship and what will fit in my friend's station wagon... with her stuff... so, I'm cutting WAY back on swaps. not only can I not buy so much stuff (save money for move) but I cannot GET so much stuff.. (save space for kitchen appliances and yarn and books and...) So, if you've got me, and you're thinking about what to send me, think light. I'll forgive you. I love stuff, but I'll cry to part with new stuff when I already have to part with so much old stuff. My friend is coming down from Wisconsin and is making me sign a contract promising to eventually forgive her for making me part with so many of the things I love and have spent years acquiring. I told her, the copper double-boiler stays. I will fight for some things. I will fight for them with the machete I also won't part with... I'm already down to one coffee maker and it's heart-breaking.

Also, if I have you, your package may contain random extras. Not to say I will substitute, I may just supplement... like say sending a book along with a yarn swap... or some Tupperware (I have a cupboard full from when I sold it) along with some candy... you get the idea. Bonuses. I'm trying to find good homes and if I'm already sending out a package, might as well throw in some bonuses. Everyone needs Tupperware and books, right? Right.

Ooh, ooh, and I've started writing again!! Yeah! Dark and twisted fiction and uber-long short stories here we come!!

Well, i cook. And I knit. And I Try to travel.. at least a little. I have two cats, a couple of struggling plants and a growing music habit.. I work in a concert hall/restaurant. I'm trying to get a second job to support my yarn and travel. I also drink and play pool and read a lot and generally stay up late mixing old lady and young degenerate habits wantonly. Now that I better understand how this works, let's add a little more, shall we? My favorite color is blue, I have two cats, no kids and no significant other. (=peace and quiet!) I'm attached to my telephone. I'm a Liberal Pagan, so please no blessings, religious works, political views FROM EITHER SIDE. I won't send mine to you, I would appreciate if you did likewise. I'm not girly. I try now and then with nail polish and heels and skirts but that's about as far as I make it. I adore reptiles and boxing and football and gin. I don't have a lot of space in this apartment and have already used the available wall space, trying to make more space with the power of the mind... I'll let you know how that works out. I appreciate sarcasm and dry british humor but not frat boy humor. I like Invader Zim and Happy Bunny. I believe that everyone has the right to his/her own lifestyle and so long as everyone is a consenting adult, do what makes you happy. A California native in self-imposed exile in Louisiana, I have abundant access to poorly made candies, real tiny alligator heads and claws and hot sauce and I miss Japanese and Indian food and cheap produce. If anyone can find a way to mail fresh Rainier cherries, I will worship at your feet. I like coffee, tea, wine, snooty beer... I'm allergic to citric acid... which is white wine, oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, tomatoes etc. In their raw form they make me very sick, but I'm fortunate to be able to still eat tomato sauce and other cooked products. That acid is also very popular as a preservative and a flavoring agent..anything with that tart green apple taste I can't have. I like flower scents like rose, gardenia, and jasmine or musk, sandalwood, chocolate. Please no overly sweet smells like those vanilla scents they came out with. I like jewel tones and yellow makes me look green. Seriously... I used to wear a yellow shirt to get out of PE when I was a kid. Worked everytime. So no orangy-yellow, yellowy-green, orangey-reds, you get the idea. And pink is...well, my friends laugh at me when I wear pink. =) apparently it doesn't go with the big black tattoo...

Comment: Lovely package, I loved the yarn and the little suprises were super cute. Way more stuff than I was expecting :) However, in all honesty, I have to give minus points for non-vegan chocolate, thus it did not meet the swap requirements. Sorry. Luckily I'm only a vegetarian, but a true vegan person would not have been so happy.

Comment: Although a little late, this was a really great package that brought a smile to my face! Even my parents couldn't help laughing at the vodka [a very original swap!], and I really love the mardi gras necklace (it's hanging amongst my other collectables this minute!); the figurehead has an uncanny likeness to many I've seen on signs and such in cosy little German villages still standing in the style of times long past, so it makes me feel a happy nostalgia when I look at it. Thank you! :)
Response: yes, New Orleans in a box... beads and booze. I couldn't fit the crooked politicians...
