I am a relatively new quilter and have been enjoying the learning process since creating my first pieced quilt in 2008. Since then I have been blogging about my quilting experiences and adventures on my blog and making wonderful new friends from all over the quilting world. I hope to continue exploring new techniques and outlets for making these wonderful and colorful fabric creations.
I am a full time portrait and wedding photographer and live in a wonderful and historic city of New Orleans. I draw my inspiration from nature, architecture and color.
I have been sewing ever since I used to watch my Mom sew on her Singer when I was a little boy. Sewing and tailoring must be a genetic trait since my Mom's dad was a tailor in Poland and passed his talent on to his daughter and of course she passed on her talents to me. Mom turned me on to quilting in the last couple of years and I have enjoyed that so much. Although she now lives in New Mexico, it's great to compare our projects and share our quilting adventures.
I enjoy country and classical music with the occasional pop or rock song sprinkled in.
Drama and Comedies are my favorites. Something with a strong plot or subtitles will peak my interest as well.
I'm a big BRAVO TV fan -- sometimes to the point of obsessive -- I hope I can break that habit! LOL.
I am a multi-tasker and work on many projects at the same time and sometimes I do finish them. I enjoy machine embroidery just as much if not more than quilting but I enjoy the process of selecting fabrics and patterns and having something come together. I have several projects in play right now including current holiday themed projects and gifts but not limited to the holiday theme. I love bright fabrics but also am drawn to deep rich colors and bright colors as well. I am not a traditionalist but I wouldn't go as far as calling me a free spirit although many might disagree with that.
