my name is mary-jean, i am 31 years old and i am an organic vegetable farmer, stained glass artisan, movie lover, slow food enthusiast, outdoorswoman, romantic, jill of all trades really.
i am a strong, hard working, hard-headed mama...whos not afraid to get dirty. i consider my self pretty awkward...slightly odd sence of humor. horrible public speaker.
i love anything earthy and natural. no cutesy stuff...
i love my partner, my dog, my animals, the woods, the water, movies, warm weather, goats, sheep, chickens, cows, ducks, owls, natural dyes, sewing, trees, flowers, cooking from scratch, making things from other things...
i am an avid reuser, reducer and up-cycler. i dont like to see anything wasted.
i love getting mail...and i like making others happy with thoughtful little gifts.
on my farm i have a mama and a papa berkshire hogs, 100 egg layers, 80 milking goats, 15 goat kids, 2 billy goat, 3 barn cats, 1 inside cat, and 1 dog!
i love warm sunny days the best...but i secretly wish for rain...so that i can stay inside and play in my studio.
i like swapping handmade items most of all.
favorite crafts are...glass work, drawing, painting, finger weaving, crocheting, dying, clothing design, i love wearing clothes that i made myself, mosaics, sewing, applique, embroidery, beadwork, leatherwork, wood burning, framing, i love making windchimes with random things, macrame, flower arrangments.
i love mostly all colors...just not so much neon. dont really like plaids. pastels are ok...to make it easy on you...i will choose brown, green, blue and purple as my favorite colors...i like bold, dark, and beautiful...not really into glitter....and i like earthy and muted... and i dont mind sexual content...i actually love a nude human body. they make me smile.
DISLIKES FOR FABRIC: i really dont like christmas or holiday fabric...snowflakes are cool...solids bore me...neons scare me...and i dont like animated character prints. and yellow and white are my least favorite colors...
wish list: cool fibres, sewing notions, fabric, hand-made screenprinted items, beads ( no plastic), handmade jewelry (silver no gold), tiny simple silver or plated hoop earrings...i have about 10 holes in my ears...and i cant find little silver hoops to save my life...drawing pens, hemp, natural dyes....jeez...that was harder then a thought it was going to be...will add more as i think of things...
things i dont do so much are scrapbooking, stamping, knitting...unless its on the nifty knitter... i dont collect atcards, or matchboxes. even though i think they are terrific. i try not to collect things that sit and take up space...i have little space to start...along with some of you too...i like functional and reusable.
you will find me listening to such bands as...the grateful dead, phish, midnite, bob marley, indigo girls, beta band, ani difranco, bob dylan, willie, xavier rudd, daivid gray, brett dennen, johnny cash...to name just a few.
dont like rap, or cursing, or yelling, or techno.
i love anything written by michael pollen, edward abbey, joel salatin, gene stratton porter, wendell berry, barbara kingsolver
if anyone would like to do a private fabric swap just let me know...am always in need of different fabric.
I have finished the king size quilt top called light squares and dark squares...it has hundreds of little triangles. i told myself that this quilt would be the only one i would make...due to the years of handquilting that lay before me...but within 3 days of finishing i found myself starting to cut pieces for another one...hmmm...this next one is a log cabin style...i am using 2 1/5 inch strips...cause of all the awesome noodles i have been getting...so any thin scraps you have laying around in either lighter shades or darker shades...feel free to unload them on me...i would be happy to trade with you.
just a hint for when you are trying to distinguish between light and dark...if you squint your eyes while comparing you will see what i mean about light and dark...
if i can not use what i recieve in a swap i will pass it along to someone who i think can...i dont like waste.
@jolenegreen February Kindness swap. she was a newbie who didnt have enough swaps under her belt to join...i thought i would be nice and help her out and set up a private swap with her. after many weeks of saying she was going to send out ...i have still not recieved anything. NOTE: if you plan on swapping with a newbie...wait until you get your package first before sending to the newbie!

Thanks for the wool. There's a ton in that bag. Now I just need to figure out how to dye it. I'm very excited to start wool felting.
LOL! I was thinking the same thing about the journal. It was so cute, but I didn't want to fill up the pages. Hope you can find something cool to put in it. =)
Happy you like the stamps! I have made myself 12 stamps, LOL. So fun to make!
I apologize HUGELY for not thanking you for the stamps the day they arrived!!! :) How very rude, but honestly, it was unintentionally so. It was a lovely thing for you to do!!!
Thank you for the extra noodles! You so didn't need to do that but you did and that just makes you a really great swap partner :)
