I am interested in all forms of arts and crafts, but of course my free time is limited,so my main focus now is on art quilting and fiber art. I am beginner level, but enjoy learning new techniques. I enjoy the freedom and creativity involved in art quilting. The colors and textures and personal meaning in a piece are more important than getting the seams exact- perfect for me!

I am a real fabricoholic and love finding new fabrics to "paint" with. I like fabrics in rich earth tones and bold jewel tones. I especially love batik fabrics. I have just tried my hand at making Dotee dolls and had so much fun I plan on making several. I have also made a view ATCs and really enjoy that.

I really enjoy all kinds of music, everything from celtic to rock and roll to bluegrass. My all time favorite band is U2. Some of my other favorite artists are Journey, Sarah Mclachlan, Live, Alison Kraus, Kings of Leon, Daughtry, Annie Lennox, Melissa Etheridge, and Joss Stone.

I love to read and my favorite types of book are modern literature. I love book that explore human relationships and the reasons for our actions. What makes us who we are? What makes us react differently to the same situation? Why does a person go out of their way to help a stranger? These are things I like reading and thinking about.

I love well written books with carefully constructed sentences and detailed descriptions that not only tell a story but transport you into it.

Some of my favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, The Grapes of Wrath, As It Is In Heaven, Four Letters of Love, Beach Music and numerous others.

If you have a recommendation of a book you have enjoyed ( I like all kinds, not just modern literature) I would love to hear about it! I am always looking for something new to read :-)

My favorite color is purple, any and all shades of purple, I also like rich deep and jewel toned colors,like burgundy, royal blue, forest green, rust, etc. I love coffee, chocolate and ice cream I collect old books I like charms, especially ones that look vintage I love vintage photos I like to try new recipes. I like anything to do with faeries. I visited Ireland and Wales and loved both. I would enjoy anything related to either country. I want very much to visit Italy one day, and anything related to Italy is welcome. I enjoy learning about other countries and cultures. I love my flower garden, and am interested in anything garden related. I would enjoy getting scraps of fabric, beads ( especially unusual or glass ones), ribbon, lace, unusual buttons, favorite quotes, book marks,favorite or unusual recipes, charms,copies of vintage photos and textured paper.

I am 47 years old at the time of this writing. I am divorced and have four grown children, 3 sons ages 22,24, and 28 and a daughter 26. I also have one beautiful granddaughter, Jasmine, who is 6, and who is a constant source of joy in my life. I work in an office, and I feel blessed to have a decent job and work with good people, but it is just a job, not something I gain real satisfaction from. I do enjoy crafting as it gives me a chance to be creative, and to learn. For me crafting is more than just fun, it is a form of therapy. It is also a way to bring a smile to someone, ( I hope!) which is important to me. I like meeting new people and am always interested in learning about the lives of others. I believe we are all on this earth to help each other grow and to learn from one another.
