I'm a French guy living near Paris and working in mobile the Telecommunications area.
I'm into philately, collecting stamps picturing frogs, cows, or also stamps issued on the year of my birth (1966). I have maintained a philatelic blog for several years that unfortunately I have stopped updating due to lack of time (http://MyPhilateliy.blogspot.com). I hope I will be able to resume it one day...
Since two years I have started being heavily involved in mail art. This is really an exciting activity. I have created a blog to display the mail art I send or I receive (http://MyMailArtWorld.blogspot.com). I have launched several mail art calls and I am always thrilled when I get a mail art from a new contact from all over the world.
IΓ’β¬β’m into computers. I would not say that IΓ’β¬β’m a geek, but not far from that. I have had my first computer when I was 17 and since them I have spent a HUGE amount of time in from of a computer. IΓ’β¬β’m much more at ease in front of a keyboard than with a pen. This is why I very often type my letters instead or writing them. Anyway my handwriting is really not good and hard to decipher some times. Also my mail-art is produced mainly by computer. I usually use pictures I have taken (or that I have gathered from any free source) and I process them, mix them to reach my objective. Despite the fact that IΓ’β¬β’m using a computer, each of my sending is a unique creation. I never re-use twice the same design. This is a rule that I have defined. This would be too easy to print ten times the same design and re-use it.
I'm a big fan of sci-fi. I read a lot of sci-fi books, mainly British authors. My favorite one is Arthur C Clarke, I have read all his books. I love old sci-fi films from the 50s. My two favorite ones are "The day the earth stood still", and "Forbidden planet". Sci-fi is a good subject on which I would be happy to exchange with penpals.
On the music side IΓ’β¬β’m rather eclectic. My favorite band is the Pet Shop Boys, the British pop duo. I have all their albums and I was lucky enough to see them on stage several times. Last time was in Manchester, England.
I'm interested in rugby. Not as a player but as a spectator. My boyfriend is a former rugby referee. We are together since 13 years and think of getting married, now that gay marriage is allowed in France. The only sport I practice is tennis.
I love cooking and I love good food (and good wines... well, IΓ’β¬β’m not a French man for nothing!).
I love traveling my favorite destination is Sydney, Australia. I have been there four times already. I try to go there once every three years. I LOVE Australia and would be thrilled to be able to live there. I also travel quite a lot in Europe and from time to time I go to Shanghai for professional trips.
I discovered swap-bot quite by accident. IΓ’β¬β’m mainly interested by mail-art swaps but I also take part to some others when I feel I could have fun with them. As IΓ’β¬β’m quite busy at work, the most difficult part for me is to meet the deadline of the swaps. It happened already (and it will happen again) that I was late but I always warn my contact via private message that I will be sending late. I expect the same from the others. I have had some very exciting exchanges so far on swap-bot and I hope this will continue like that. I do not have any specific restrictions on what I like to receive. At least not yet, may be it will come in the future ;-) As you can imagine IΓ’β¬β’m not so much interested in things that look too girly.
See you soon in a swap!
