About Me

I live in South Carolina, USA with my husband, and my chickens. We live in a tiny town called Lynchburg which is only about a mile wide and has a population of less than 400. We have 2 little convenience stores,a bank and a post office, and we recently got a Dollar General (yay!)!! I love it here so much because it is so peaceful and there is no traffic. I work from home making custom cakes, doing artwork and other “artistic” type projects. I got married in 2008 and my husband is my favorite person in the whole world! He works as a lineman (puts up electrical lines) and we would be thrilled to receive anything lineman related. One of my favorite things to do is cook. I like to cook all types of food and I especially love to see peoples reactions when they taste my food. My Grandma raised me and among other things, she taught me how to cook. She was a wonderful southern cook as well as an overall wonderful person. I miss her so much and I feel blessed to have had her in my life. She taught me so much and I hope that I can make a difference in someone’s life like my Grandma did in mine. She raised her 2 children as well as several grandchildren. Her house was always the safe haven for anyone in need. I will never forget the way she always made us feel safe and loved. During the last 3 or so years of her life, she moved in with me and my husband and I was her caretaker. Caring for someone 24/7 can be a challenge but it was a job I would do again if I needed to. I will always treasure the time I had with her and the long talks we had. I will also never forget how delicious her homemade biscuits were!! Especially with some of her homemade fig preserves!

I love to go to the beach and love anything related to the ocean. I love to collect seashells and would be so excited and thankful if you were to send me some seashells from your area! I collect postcards (especially vintage, linen, "Greetings from" type, holiday, chickens, birds, owls, animals, pin up girls, flowers, butterflies, and weird, unusual and funny ones), postage stamps, chicken themed things, owl things, and anything vintage, antique or unusual. I love receiving things from other parts of the world And I would love to travel around the world and see as much of it as I can in the short time I have here :)

My husband and I are huge Walking Dead fans. Other TV shows we enjoy are Family Guy, Ghost Adventures (I love those ghost hunting shows) and Vikings.

I love anything vintage, old fashioned, antique or traditional. I sometimes think maybe I should have been around a few centuries ago, lol. I like anything chicken related. I have raised chickens since I was little and currently have 3 hens and a bossy little rooster.

I absolutely LOVE to drink coffee and would love to get any samples of coffee or K-cups.

My favorite colors are turquoise, teal, purple, pink, and green.

Comment: I actually cried when I opened the envelope and saw the beautiful zentangle that you made. My husband and I have had a really rough patch in our relationship this past year and being that Tangled Up in Blue has always been his favorite Dylan song...it just hit me I guess. But it only means that your items are wonderful and I really love what you made. The earrings are so pretty and just my style. The key chain will hang on my purse. THANK YOU!!! xo
Response: Awwwww, I am so happy that you like everything, I enjoyed this swap and enjoyed making the stuff I sent you!

Comment: Thank you for these lovely envies and the extras! Sorry for the late rating--somehow I had this in the box with my electric kettle from school, and when I went to give it a good summer clean, I found the unopened swap hiding in the box! I must have taken it to school to rate, and then tucked it away.

How wild! My postcards were not sprayed with anything. Glad they’ve traveled with a nice scent, at least. So crazy to here they smell!

PeliKat on Jan 30, 2019:

Tell your husband that he's being thought of today as crews work on some downed power lines in our area. My house, thankfully, is not one that is affected, but it's bitterly cold out and I feel very grateful for those who are out in the frigid temperatures working to get power back to the families that are affected. When I learned about the outage, I automatically thought of you and your lineman... :-)
