About Me

I live in Montana and enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, and gardening. I love to read and I try to read 100 new books each year. I like to write letters because I love to receive them.

LGBTQ friendly/safe (straight ally)

In my house: me (40), Hubby (52), Dear Son (11), Darling Daughter (8), and Black Rabbit (4?)

I like:

Labrador retrievers, fish, all kinds of outdoor scenes/scenery, books, humor, bookmarks, fruit teas, pictures of vineyards or farms, cross-stitch, knitting, stickers (see dislikes), postcards, notecards, daisies and wildflowers, recipes and cooking, doves, Celtic knots and Trinity symbols, stationery sheets, doodles, colored pencils, pens, travel stories, classical music, Kawaii (animals, scenery, houses, NO people), Susan Branch, deco tape, Mary Engelbreit, ATCs

I knit and crochet and love yarn hoarding. I cannot sew.

No Disney, religious, cats, perfumes, make-up, smoky items, black tea, reward stickers, pirates, cartoon people, Americana (except in postcards)

Favorite Books

I read historical biographies, memoirs, character-driven fiction, contemporary and historical romance (no category), travel narratives, experience memoirs (experiments, personal research, family histories), cozy mysteries

No horror (scary), no religious, no crafty how-tos (just makes me feel incompetent). :)

I am interested in Australia, Tudor England (fic or non-fic), American Civil War, Theodore Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, women leaders in the world, information (current or historical) about prison systems, developmental disabilities, female empowerment, and social institutions

Top Books of 2021 (so far) - Broken (In the Best Possible Way) - Why Fish Do Not Exist - The Heart Principle - Robert E. Lee and Me (Seidule) - The Night Lake - The Trauma Cleaner - The Soulmate Equation - I'm Only Wicked With You - The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2011 - Parable of the Sower

Favorite Movies

True Grit (new version), 10 things I Hate About You, Silence, Selma, Mulan, Wonder Woman, Chariots of Fire, Little Women (1994), Little Miss Sunshine, Some Like it Hot

Favorite Television

Ted Lasso, Big Bang Theory, Frasier, Wings, Grace and Frankie (we're cord cutters)

Good to know...

I am a religious/spiritual person, so it is okay to talk to me about topics in that arena. I understand that not everyone thinks or believes as I do, so I am as interested in your tarot collection as I am about your bible study or your experience at the mikvah.

Comment: I'm glad I hosted this swap! Yes, Hamilton is a great place for all-level photographers. For the places you mentioned, and the area has 120+ waterfalls--I've been to 15! The RBG Hendrie Valley is stunning with a massive boardwalk that winds through marshes. I gave you a star because I have never heard of the delicatessen. I heading there this afternoon. Thanks for noticing it. And Tim Hortons is definitely a show-your-visitor place.
Response: Oooh! Please send me a message with a delicatessen report! Iโ€™m super curious.

Comment: We read a lot of the same kind of books, so your list was great. Someone actually told me I should check out Morning Glory Milking Farm, so it was funny that you mentioned it. I am openminded, so I will have to check it out. Have a great day!
Response: It has really good world-building and funny writing, but the premise is intense!

Comment: Hi Julia, thank you for this wonderful packet of goodies! What a treat it was! I can't wait to play with all the goods and I love the fall leaf, that is beautiful. I have the perfect place to hang it in my art room and when I look at it I will say a prayer of love and hope for your daughter and you, and your family. It is a wild ride. Contact me ANYTIME and I do mean it if you ever just need to vent.

(NN Check Me Out! 3)

Greetings to you from Finland!

First of all, mentioning that you're LGBTQ friendly made me smile, because I'm pansexual, and am always happy to see straight people who support us!

I think I might have to steal your idea of saving postcards for your child, I have a little one as well (16 months old). :)

Happy swapping~
