About Me

Hi there! I'm Michelle, mom of 3 adult kids, married since 1989 and I'm a grandma!!! (Milo Oliver was born on September 21, 2020!!!)

I love travel, writing, reading, comedy, movies, true crime, history, genealogy, yoga, I'm a little bit witchy and I love anything to do with France.

I'm a pretty laidback person - well, I'm insanely anxious but I'm not a hardass, if that makes sense. I take my swapping seriously, but not so seriously that it makes anyone miserable. I'm deathly allergic to drama - frankly, I'm just too old for it. I try to just abide, but inequality will get me fired up every time. Don't have time or patience for hate or bigotry or homophobia.

If you're into that sort of thing, I'm an INFJ, Gemini sun sign, Capricorn moon sign and Libra rising sign. Oh and I'm a #2 on the enneagram.

Also, if you feel like we have a lot in common and are interested in being penpals, let me know. I'd especially like penpals from other countries!

If, for some reason, you do not receive something from me and I am one of your swap partners, PLEASE be sure to contact me and let me know. I have NEVER flaked on a swap in my life and I don't intend to start anytime soon. But if you don't get something from me, let me know and I'll resend right away. Thank you :)

I am a really tolerant, easygoing person, but communication is very important. If something crazy happens, let me know and we can work something out. If I don't hear from you, I have no choice but to assume you're flaking. I don't post flakers on my profile because I prefer to handle things privately.

I'm a firm believer in everyone's right to believe as they wish, however, I don't have any wish to discuss politics or religion. I appreciate religious art and imagery and I'm interested in the study of different belief systems, but I don't need to be converted to anything. Thank you for respecting that. :)

Comment: Wow! Thank you so much for the incredible reading list!! I will add the ones I haven’t read yet to my Goodreads. I am related to several people who were accused and/or killed in the Salem Witch Trials, so those books are of special interest to me. Thanks again!
Response: Ohmigoodness that's unbelievable! I'm fascinated by the trials and how incredibly tragic and unjust they were. I'm glad that you liked my list!
Comment: Thank you for the cool postcard! I enjoyed hearing about annual events you like.

Comment: Michelle, thank you so much for the beautiful handmade card, the Mabon prayers, and the cute extras! Hope you have a wonderful Autumn Equinox ❤️
Comment: One of the last books I've ever purchased was the Ball Big Book of Canning
Comment: I love to garden as well. How many books did you read? I read four books. A Good Year, Peter Mayle Moon Shot, Alan Shepard, Deke Slayton, Jay Barbee Neil Armstrong, Jay Barbee Conversations with Lincoln, Gordon Leidner • How many books did you buy? I bought four used books. One about origami, two plant books and one about folding paper. I bought these books more for crafts than reading. • How many books did you borrow? From a friend or Library? 12 online books through the LIbby app. Our library allows us to check out books through Libby. • What genres did you read? I mainly read non-fiction books. The books listed above were read to prepare for a trip to Ohio/Indiana/Illinois. I visited the Neil Armstrong museum and the President Lincoln Museum and Library. These books helped me enjoy the museums so much more and entertained me on my long road trip to visit my Aunt. • What was your favorite one? Conversations with Lincoln. I learned a lot about Lincoln and the United States during the Civil War. It was a short book based on his papers during his White House years and other correspondence from people who visited him in the White House. The book highlights some of his many interactions with people over his time in the White House. It shows a good cross section of his life. • What did you DNF? (title and author please) I did not finish A Good Year by Peter Mayle. On Libby you can only check out books for 14 days. I was not able to finish the book before my time was up. There was a movie made about the book - which I saw and I decided not to renew the loan. • What books did you read this month that you recommend? Conversations with Lincoln. My sister also read the book and recommends it. • The favorite quote you read this month I wish I had written down quotes while reading the books. I am sorry but I don’t have any quotes.
Comment: Thanks for the postcard.

Comment: All great choices, thank you!
Comment: So much green happiness! Love the fabric and the tree stickers. The bunny washi is adorable and the yoga post card is awesome. The little envelope of random green dodads is so fun. Thanks for a wonderful swap! Be well.
Comment: What an amazing journal! I, too, love to read...and I really enjoyed reading about you and your family. Although I am not a traveler, I, too, think my family is "the best"! Two of my grandchildren live on this farm with me and another and her husband are going to build a home here (this place will belong to those 3 when I'm gone and they know it - their dad (my youngest son) agrees with me on that). I have 112 acres of "almost heaven" so there is plenty of room for all of us! I have basically raised those 3 as well as my own 3 sons, so it's an honor that they want to be with me! Thanks again for a beautiful journal!!
Comment: Thank you for your fun envelope full of yellow galore :) :) I looove the bright yellow ABC stickers, I will label a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g :):) Have a fantastic weekend <3
Comment: Your lovely decorated envelope arrived! Thank you so much dear Michelle!!! A nosy someone has opened the envelope though, took a look and cellotaped it close again. My, oh my. This someone was not a paperhappy person.. BUT I AM :) This is a wonderful eclectic collection - I love it! The reading-bee-sticker is my favourite, but I have to share it with a dear friend, who is a beekeeping reader :D (and yes! embroidery can be quite addicting, but you still have some time until November :). {hugs} & XOXO
Comment: Thank you for the lovely purple goodness you've sent. A great selection. I love it.
