About Me

The end of 2022 and start of 2023 were insane for us. Out first grand was born on 12-10 and did not get out of NICU until 12 23. I went to help out but got the call that my terminally ill father was heading downhill. He passed 1-6. I made several trips to Michigan and am just getting all the probate/executor stuff going. Thank you for those of you who were patient and to Isabella Snow for stepping in to help me with 2 swaps, you are loved!

My youngest is A 15-16 yr contender in the hammer throw for the National title.Jacksonville, Florida, here we come! HE JUST WON THE JR OLYMPIC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! (7-30-21)

I am a happily married woman (21 years) and have 3 teenage kids.

Update 4/2021 I love Swap-Bot, I have met so many wonderful people here. I continue to be amazed at the talent of people, and a good letter never fails to inspire. After 11 month I am back to work, so theoretically I should be slowing down on my swaps. That does not seem to be the case thus far...

Favorite Crafts

I love to watercolor paint, junk journal, smash books, collect vintage items, gelli print and make Happy Mail.

Favorite Colors

I like themed color palettes.

I am not picky about what the color is as long as it is cohesive an aesthetically pleasing.

Favorite Books

I love to read, period. I have library cards with 4 major libraries and usually have 30 books, audio and print on my tablet. American History, American Historical Romance, Romantic Suspense, True crime, Suspense, Humor, craft idea or techniques, and cook books are usually on the list.

My life

I have survived breast cancer. I have had 14 different abdominal surgeries. I do not wish to receive any cancer survivor stuff. I feel that I have just dealt with what is in front of me. During my reconstruction recovery I went septic and nearly died. That was more impactful then cancer.

Things I like

Botanicals images of trees and plants

Anything forest related (I have a HUGE, 300 pieces or more, Smokey Bear bookmark collection, let me know if you want vintage Smokey)

Vintage anything, cards, printed ephemera, photos, postcards are all wonderful if you found it, I will love it.

Washi tape, blues, green and yellows, florals, mountains etc.

Any tags or pockets for a junk journal

Canceled stamps from anywhere,

Fibers, not yarn, not wool

Charms to use as dangles

Colored pliable wire

Jewelry findings or unique ideas for dangles

Lace, 2 inches or more vintage or not

I am intrigued with sari silk

Sequins or shaker materials

Favorite recipes

Paper flowers

Sewing machine stitched paper.

Linens, I have a deep love for tatted doilies and embroidered dresser scarves. Scan your favorite and share the print out!

Gardens, gates, houses in die cuts.

CD of fun digitals?

A memory dex base, if you have the punch send me a couple!

I am using Pirate Ship to calculate shipping. If I get it wrong let me know! I mis-weighed a swap the other day and added a bunch of postcard stamps to make up the difference, I hope it works!

Things I do not care for

Herbal teas, I am allergic. Stick with black tea.

Anything cancer survivorish

Cotton basic yarn

Stinky perfumed items, once again allergic

Wool, raw, spun ...all give me hives

Flat back "gems" the plastic type

I wish I didn't have to put this down but PLEASE no kiddie or dollar store stickers. No alphabets either.

I am diabetic...no sweets please.

Cooking Junk Journal

I do not care for green peppers, I will take recipes with them in it in small quantities.

I adore canning and preserving

I love Holiday baking and meal prep

Comment: Thanks for the excellent selection of vintage goodies. I like the way you packaged groups of items with your paper artistry sleeves. Thanks so much!
Comment: Thank you so much Brenda for the 2 envelopes you sent with all the great goodies! I love it so much. Thank you also for join my swap. Thanxxxxxx
Comment: Oh my goodness, Brenda! What an extraordinary swap! My head kind of exploded when I saw the Night Sky wheel, and my husband finds it very nifty too! So we will be using it together, which will be fun! It's such an interesting item! Everything else is wonderful as well - the Mt. St. Helens PC is fascinating (we were not here for that, but folks have told us there was ash in the air for a long time), the Marilyn PCs are so cool, the vintage postal items are great, and I love the note paper and washi! Thank you very much for the greatest happy mail! Take care! XO Dana

Comment: Love it. And I totally understand about the craft room and not being able to find stuff. Lol. Thanks.
Comment: Oh My - These are gorgeous - you outdid yourself - I love them - I can't wait to use them! I thought the size odd too, cause I usually make smaller ones - but yours are lovely!

Comment: Oh my goodness - this just arrived and I haven't even opened the journal itself yet but I had to come rate right away. Just the cover itself and the embroidery piece and goodies packet have me so excited. I can't wait to dive in to the journal itself, thank you so much, I am so excited. I hope the sewer issues clear up quickly and that the rest of your move back into your craft room goes smoothly!

Comment: Ohmigoodness what an absolutely lovely package! I love the little journal and the cross-stitch project is just beautiful. And I haven't seen Holly Hobbie in so long! She used to be one of my absolute favorite things when I was a little girl. Thanks so much for joining the swap and being a part of our group. I'm so glad you're here. :)
Comment: Thanks for all the wonderful goodies Brenda! I love how you packed everything so nicely in the Vintage scarf!! Love it!!
Comment: You were so generous with this swap! I love the letter you sent on the back of a sparkly gel pen colored paper! Vintage ribbon is very cool. Love the selection of very vintage postcards. The magazine pages from 1934 are great, too. And the doily! Thank you soooo much!
Comment: These clusters are fantastic! I love how each one is a different theme and material. I also love the card you included. It brought me straight back to my childhood in the 70s. Thank you for sharing your creativity with me!

Comment: Brenda, I am absolutely blown away by your journal!!! It arrived while a crafty friend was here for an afternoon of projects with me and we both spent most of the time after that going over each page and commenting on this part or that part; then we discussed different aspects that we were most impressed with and how we wished our journals were half as nice as the one you created. We both agreed that if this one isn't your 'best effort', then we can't imagine how beautiful your best effort could possibly be!! It's easy to see that you put a tremendous amount of time and energy into it and I feel so lucky to be on the receiving end of your work. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful swap!!! And yes, we also hear about the Bates Motel and, with four sons in the family, 'Master' Bates was a common title bestowed on them by their friends... Lol!
Response: Thank you for your kind words. It was a push to get it finished but I absolutely love making them.
Comment: Hi Brenda! So glad to hear things are quieting down in your world. Thank you so much for this sweet pansy piece. They're so delicate and I think you captured that. Thanks, too, for the neat extras and the gorgeous woven card--just beautiful. So nice to swap together again--hope we get to do it again soon!
