Holiday Likes

Valentine's Day: Conversation Hearts, vintage Beistle Honeycomb cards, vintage valentine postcards, hearts, more pink than red, probably the only time I like things a bit more frou-frou

Easter: rabbits, chicks, eggs, vintage postcards, Cadbury mini eggs, jelly beans

Halloween: vintage Halloween collectibles, paper-mache candy buckets, crows/ravens, witches, Poe, vampires, candy corn, B&W decor, spooky chic. I like macabre, but not over-the-top gorey...Edward Gorey is good though ;-). I have a small feather tree I put up, so mini ornaments are a great addition.

Thanksgiving: acorns, leaves, rustic pumpkins, wheat sheaths

Christmas: vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, D56 Dickens Village Historical Series, Radko glass ornaments, vintage Christmas decor. I don't do the traditional red and green decor, I mostly decorate with navy, silver, and white with pops of green. Since I live in Florida, beach or nautical themed Christmas items are perfectly fitting.

Swapping Philosophy

I strive to go beyond the swap requirements, and only send items that I would be thrilled to receive myself. I'm appreciative of other swappers that have obviously put thought, time, and effort into their swap packages.

I always send out my swaps. If you do not receive anything from me, please let me know. I want you to be happy swapping with me. ;-)

While extras are nice, I really don’t need any more of anything. I can’t even organize the stuff I already have. Please don’t feel you need to send anything else beside the swap items. Thanks!

Comment: If I could give this rating a thousand hearts, I would in a heartbeat. I absolutely looooooove the beautiful card you made. I have been watching lots of Tim Holtz lives, especially the makes using these dies that you had on the card. It’s even more gorgeous in person. The delicate snowmen arms - they’re soo dainty!! The die cuts themselves are so so beautiful- I love the paper you used. Ahhhh!!! I had to immediately show my husband, who also was ahhing over the gorgeousness. Thank you so very much for the beautiful die cuts and the card. It’s going straight up on my mantle. So so beautiful. Merry Christmas, Christine!!

Comment: Updating to say that I found the package and am totally blown away by everything you made and sent for this swap. I loved the letter and mulling spices, and the gorgeous flip book with all the pockets. Thank you for being so very generous with the treats… so many amazing postcards (the Edward Gorey Book!!) and the enamel pins. I just love everything. My children got the pez and jellybeans and are also very happy. And everything was wrapped so beautifully. I can’t give you enough hearts for this swap!! Of all days, I found it on my birthday and so it was basically the ultimate Halloween birthday present! 🎃💖👻🧡🎂🖤💀🎉

I love the shaker"page" and the note pad. I really smiled at the black scallop trim. I've never had anyone use it before -very classy! I have a lot of it in all colors and love to use it. I get from 32*North. Is that where you get yours?

I’ve had that Dresden vintage style trim for quite a while and I think I picked it up at this nifty art supply store in WI. I’m trying to use up the multitude of supplies I have, but of course that hasn’t stopped me from buying more. And now you’ve given me a new resource to check out.

We are in the Countdown to Halloween swap together though may not be assigned as partners. I am reading profiles of folks in it with me as I make up my 30 envelopes. I know that writing something for each of them will take time and it feels worth it to me.
