Thank you so much for the gorgeous handmade paper and the fun coloring mini zine. You even used a beautiful Wisconsin stamp! Yours was one of the most thoughtful packages I've received from Swap-bot so far.

You know, I have never been to Minnesota either!! I can't believe it. I'm thinking we need to take road trips to each other's cities sometime soon. :) Wishing you and your family and happy and healthy new year. <3

Hi Dave! Rebecca here from Mount Albert, just north of Toronto Ontario Canada. Wow, 7 kids! You must be some kind of rock star parent! I can barely manage my three but they are all autistic so that does makes them harder to handle. I still don't know how you do it! I like the first paragraph under preferences. I too prefer traditional and vintage to modern art and I adore ephemera. I love making ATCs but I agree, sometimes they are restrictively small. On the upside, I like that they can be completed quickly. But I've worked on much larger canvases too. I have my biggest one yet coming up to be completed in time for the Do More Art Swap.

If you are new to watercolour, you might like the latest class by Online Card Classes (just google it). They have a beginner class that is archived and you could stay there but they have a new class coming up that is more artsy and less paper crafter oriented. You can get $2 off if you buy it before Jan 2 with the code 'techniques'. I've taken their classes before and they are great. Worth every penny. You get lots of videos over 30 this time and PDFs of the lessons too. I highly recommend it. And look into investing in some good watercolour paints if you don't have any. I love my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi set. You can get them I'm sure lots of places but I went to Simon Says Stamp. If you decide to take the class, they will have a discount code for the SSS when the class opens. So wait to buy them until then. I'm going to get some new velvet brushes if I can afford them.

Have a safe and happy winter season!

Hello hello Dave! First of all, nice to see another Minnesotan! I have family up in St. Cloud.I grew up in SW MN and I currently live in the Twin Cities for school. We share quite a few interests from retro & vintage illustration to Coen Brothers films (I LOVE Fargo!). Your flickr gallery is incredible, and I would enjoy swapping with you someday. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and I hope you have a lovely holiday season with family and friends! Best, Megan - StagKing - Read my Profile and Leave a Nice Comment swap
