Hello. I am Katie I am a maker/crafter. . 😊 My heart is in mixed media such as junk journals and collage and quilting. I can usually be found covered in glue, paint, or fabric threads.

I am a grandma!!! My grandson was born January 8th - mom and baby are both happy and healthy. I was blessed to be able to be there! Still can’t believe it!

In 2019 I became an empty nester when my youngest went to college and she is finally back there and I am again an empty nester.

I work part time as a substitute teacher and part time at Amazon, definitely a weird combo but I like it.

I took a break from swapping while I was working on another college degree and am currently taking a break from school before I return for grad school, even adults need vacations!

I absolutely love swapping happy mail with people around the world. Whether it is a holiday card, a destach package, or kawaii goodies it is exciting to see the mailbox full of positivity.

With all the weirdness of the USPS it seems every post office is different about pricing, what mine says goes yours might say it needed that extra 15 cents. If for any reason my swap shows up needing postage, please let me know and I will make it right. I prefer using stamps over printouts when possible and may add it up wrong or something... whatever just message me and know I am truly sorry !

My all time favorite group is Mumford and Sons. I fell in love with their music years before they hit it big and continue to listen to their music almost daily.

Other favs include Ed Sheeran, Alabama Shakes, Imagine Dragons... mostly listen to folk music and other random artists no one knows about.

I also love EDM, my favorite DJ is Illenium also love Rezz and Griz. I have started going to more festivals now that I don’t have kiddos at home to take care of.

I can say that I DO NOT LIKE horror movies. I never have, and I probably never will. I do not generally watch, go to, or buy horror movies. Growing up I did not watch scary movies, and I would even less now that they appear more and more real everyday.

Favorite TV Shows

• Don’t watch a lot of tv anymore although I did just finish watching all episodes of Star Trek in order of release, all of them!

At the beginning of all this craziness I added Boomerang to our streaming lineup and it did not disappoint. There is nothing like turning off the news and watching your favorite childhood cartoons. Check it out!!! Smurfs, Jetsons, Scooby (original and new), etc. I highly recommend for downtime or all the time lately 🤣

This is the good stuff...

I have an entire room in my house devoted to my crafting. I make everything from scrapbooks to scarves. I love working with paper and making things.

I love making custom scrapbooks, junk journals, drawing, and drawing zentangles.

I am a quilter as well as costume maker. I love sewing! I even have a sewing machine tattoo on me.

• MAIL ART ROCKS!!! I love receiving and sending creative mail.

Cooking

I love to cook and bake! I have always been in love with being in the kitchen. I started cooking at a young age, and never stopped.

I also make candy, and bake.

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year, and I take time every year to make treats and crafts for everyone I know, literally. My girls and I have an annual tradition of baking cookies, and making candies to hand out.

Anything Tim Holtz style - Does not have to be name brand, it's the grungy style that is cool.

Postcards - I am open to just about any kind of postcards from artsy to touristy, and in between. If it is a postcards swap, I would prefer they are sent naked in the mail.

I learned how to play DND during 2020 and LOVE IT!! - So anything DND related, tips, hints, help, etc. all welcome!

I have 2 beautiful and talented daughters who have grown and moved out on their own.

. My daughters kept me very busy when they were at home and now I am learning about myself again.

I also have 3 beloved fur babies - 2 pit bull mixes, Charlie and Stella and a doxiepoo named Ruby. Both of my pit bulls came to me at 4 weeks old as rescues and are like my children along with their pseudo mom the 8 pound doxiepoo. Nothing cuter than seeing a 70 pound dog being scolded by an 8 pounder lol
