What a wonderful story! I'm sorry that he wasn't the guy but I love that you have such a great story to carry around with you. I've never found anything but receipts in books but I find notes that the teens have written all over the library. It's such a visceral memory, those teen years and you can't help but relive it when you read some of the dramatic screeds they leave behind.

Hi there! I reply the same as I said to sakura about Finnish army.

Here in Finland military service is mandatory to men, but they can also choose non-military service, which basically means working in "boring/low-paying" jobs without getting paid. For women military service is optional and womens interest to army grows every year.

I have always thought it would be something I would like: same uniform and orders to everybody, routines, camping in woods, hard training etc. And in army I found out shooting and guns are like the coolest thing ever! I really enjoyed it, because it's something special you can't do in civilian life, outside of the army.

Still I'm very girly girl when it comes to my style and looks. I wear only skirts and dresses, I have long blond hair and I always wear strong "cat eyes" eye make up. I'm also a real peace and nature lover and against violence and war, so it's really kind of confusing and funny to some people, when they hear I have been in military service. And people who knows I'm like a real hippie, pagan etc they don't understand at all why on Earth I have went trough army even it's not mandatory to me.

But I loved every moment in the army and would love to go back if it would be possible. It was simple life, no worries about how you look, what you have to do with your life etc, there where so much to do and routines and orders etc. And it was awesome to go for camps in woods, live there surrounded by nature. It was like everything I have ever wanted.

Wow. I miss army so much. It's been only month and two days I came home from military service. It was the best time of my life, definitely.

Transcendence profile swap Hi, hope you are soon better. I love your ABC profile format. What a great creative idea for getting lots of information across quickly! I like ghost stories too...we once had a haunted bed we bought in an antiques market. It was a beautiful and very comfortable Victorian bed with carved wooden headboard and a sheet spring. My husband had continuous dreams of a little girl holding his hand and his hand would be cold as ice when he woke up. I tried reiki and smudging to clear the energy to no avail. So we moved the bed to the guest room and most people who came to stay requested to sleep on the sofa after the first night they slept in it. I however always had a great night's sleep in that bed. We moved it to our farmhouse in Ireland and it stayed with the house when we sold it.

Very interesting profile, creatively done. First off, I do hope you begin feeling better immediately! I know how miserable it can be to be sick for any length of time.

Like you, I love to travel, and like you - never takes herself too seriously - one of my favorite quotes is: "Blessed are those that can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused." And I am amused a LOT. ;-)

And you say you like ghost stories. Have I got one for you! I bought a house built in 1909 that my sister-in-law's grandparents had owned for the last 60 years. Bill had passed on and his wife had gone to a care facility. I kept one of the single beds until I could get a new one. I woke one night with the bed shaking back and forth. I wondered if there was an earthquake. This repeated itself several more nights, but there were no reports of any quakes in the area. Then my friend stayed over when I was gone for the night. And the bed shook again! We decided that Bill must be upset, perhaps that his wife wasn't there or that I was remodeling the house. We did a cleansing ritual with sage, and I assured Bill that his wife was being well taken care of and that his house would be as well. The bed never shook again! That's my true life ghost story. What do you think?

Happy swapping to you!
