Description:

This swap is for everyone who doesn't join candy swaps in the summer because their chocolate will melt! We'll do one in January when it's nice and chilly. (it's also for everyone who wants to pretend they live in a hot place so that they have an excuse to buy chocolate. such as me.)

You will have two partners, and you will send to each of them:
--A bar of chocolate (plain chocolate, which would be classified as white, milk, dark, and so on. for me that would be something like Hershey's or Dairy Milk)
--A popular chocolate bar from your region (something that has peanuts, caramel, nougat, coffee flavouring, coconut, layers, etc. Examples from here are Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp, or Mars Bars.)
--5 individually wrapped small chocolates (like kisses)

So two bars and five little chocolates is the absolute minimum, but if you feel like brightening someone's crappy winter with more chocolate that's encouraged!

Please send standard size chocolate bars, whatever that is in your region. Not the tiny Halloween ones, or the giant king size ones, but the average size. (this is the minimum though, send more if you want!)

If there are allergies in your household, message the two people sending to you so that they are aware of this and can accommodate it. Please, we don't want to kill anyone! ;)

You must have a 4.9 rating and love chocolate!

meneerdepeer 08/22/2012 #

Yum xD. I'll also join in december love chocolate <3

Nikki78 10/25/2012 #

Would love to RECEIVE my packages from Europe/Asia!!

MamaMay 10/29/2012 #

I hope I have a good enough rating by then to join in.

Elin 11/14/2012 #

You know, its summer in the southern hemisphere?

I would love to join. But six days is not a lot of time since have to wait for a message from your partner and that might take a couple of days. Isnt it better if evereyone states their alleriges here in the comments before the swap. So you can read and buy directly as partners are assigned?

I live in manchester, England ... Would love to do this n swap with someone from another country ... I love trying new chocolate :) xx

Mirnyj 11/26/2012 #

Are we supposed to send candy bar sized or 100 gram or even 200 gram bars of chocolate?

catz1ct 12/ 1/2012 #

Yes, what size bars are we sending?

SarahCD 12/ 1/2012 #

The standard size (about 50 g I believe?). Not the mini or king sized ones, just the regular ones. Hope that clears it up.

SarahCD 12/ 1/2012 #

Also I've extended the time to two weeks.

vickygr 12/ 4/2012 #

Brilliant! I was looking for a chocolate swap! xxx

Quiltbutterfly 12/10/2012 #

Would love to join but it was 40c over 100f here in Sydney the other day. Chocolate just won't survive to Australia :-((

Sillyna511 12/10/2012 #

I can't wait for this!! I need some chocolate - preferably from another country! :D

furlong 12/11/2012 #

'A popular chocolate bar' means popular from it's country or from all of the world? I wondered.

Havfrue 12/13/2012 #

The 'standard' size all over Europe is 100 g, not 50 g, IMHO...

LonesomeDove2 12/13/2012 #

I love chocolate, what a great swap

Sillyna511 12/14/2012 #

@furlong - I'm assuming popular in the country you're sending from.

MeltinMudd 12/14/2012 #

Absolutely cannot wait!

Lizard 12/18/2012 #

lol I live in North Queensland where it is not only summer, but extremely humid as well. What little melted chocolate that might be salvageable, would likely be found by the ants before I found the package.

Having said that, I absolutely LOVE this swap idea!!! :) I can't join because I am a newbie and am in 5 swaps - my maximum for now.

craftchallenged 12/19/2012 #

I LOVE DARK chocolate but have never joined a candy swap before because I live in Florida. Even now it is in the 80's most days. I sure hope it cools down before my package arrives. Looking forward to this swap. Thank you!

SarahCD 12/21/2012 #

Popular where you are.

madamequeeny 12/28/2012 #

I'm in Scotland... no allergies! Would love to get some chocolate from another part of the world!!!

Also... rather cool and wet here so chocolate is much needed!!!

Worknesh 01/ 1/2013 #

I dislike white chocolate. Dark is fine, but I love milk chocolates the most :)

Worknesh 01/ 1/2013 #

By the way, I hate raisins, and other dried fruits like apricots and so on in chocolate. But Nuts are perfectly fine :) Love caramel, nougat and so on.

Worknesh 01/ 1/2013 #

P.P.S. I don' like flavoured chocolate. for example orange flavoured milk chocolate (I received one from my friend and it is so disgusting so I can't eat it). I might look picky, but I wanna to enjoy this swap :(

flowerchild 01/ 1/2013 #

all types of chocolate welcomed!

Jadebear 01/ 1/2013 #

Hello from Canada :) We're incredibly cold here right now, so chocolate will luckily survive the trip :) Please, please, please, look at the ingredients very closely! Everyone in my house has a severe gluten intolerance! Which means no wheat flour, barley, 'modified food starch', etc. If it even says 'may contain' of any of the above, please don't send. I don't want anyone in my family to end up sick :( Other than that, dark or white chocolate are preferable, but we'll accept anything :)

ladonnatwinmom 01/ 2/2013 #

I am allergic to peanuts. If it contains peanut or peanut oil no, I am ok with all other nuts or if it's been manufactured in a facilty that has peanuts it's ok. I love carmel and white chocolate. I like coconut but no strawberry or peach or apricot. Thanks! LOVE this idea!

ehjut 01/ 3/2013 #

Every swap I get assigned Europeans to send to and always get fellow Americans to receive from. Starting to doubt it can be luck of the draw.

Rita 01/ 5/2013 #

Sarah CD, the choices above you stated, do we have to send all those or pick what we want to send? I love getting mini ones that are all different kinds and that is what I plan to send - 5 or more mini ones. Is that OK?

SarahCD 01/ 5/2013 #

@ehjut I'm the same way!

@Rita You send all three! I will email everyone right now in case of misunderstanding.

ehjut 01/12/2013 #

$13.80 in postage! And rates for Americans go up again Jan 27th. So I just paid $3.45 each for 50cent domestic candy bars. In all seriousness I hope my partners enjoy the chocolates I sent. :-)

alweaxD 03/11/2013 #

Lucky me! I still don't have it ANY chocolate pack. Hate it......
