Description:

Pretty simple. Decorate the solid side of a 3X5 Index Card. Paint on it, draw on it, collage on it, use die cuts, stamp on it, etc. Put some love in it. Don’t just slap a sticker on it and call it a day. On the lined side, write the swap name and your name. I’ve been swapping these with my pen pals. I keep them in an Index Card box. I add tabs to mine to make them easier to flip though, however, that is totally optional. If you’re careful with the weight of embellishments or thickness, you can keep this pretty cheap to mail. If enough swappers are interested, I will make more of these swaps with different themes. This first swap is sender’s choice so you can start creating as soon as you sign up! Let me know if you have any questions.

Love this! I've been thinking about making these index card bases to use later on cards or in journals. I saw the idea in the newest Sommerset magazine. I thought, "I should do that!" I would love to for these for themes as well. I might even do some for autumn.

Elanamarie, all theme ideas are welcome😃

4 by 6, also?

Magenta3-just cut it down to 3X5, that way they all fit in a 3X5 index card box if we keep going with different themes.

I love this swap! I've been making index card art for quite a while. Great size to work on, and super cheap. Thanks!

Also, shouldn't this be a type 3 swap, since it's something handmade?

I STILL haven't found my index cards.... would it be okay if I just cut a sturdy piece of cardstock to 3x5?

Mindy82671 09/12/2019 #

I don’t want to rate it a 3 and make people think it has to be delivered in a package. I did a 2 so people could make it flat if they wanted to and send it cheap. I’m fine if you cut card stock down to 3x5.

It’s an “or” statement. A type 3 swap doesn’t have to be mailed in a package. Anything that requires more significant crafting should be a type 3 swap.

Type 3 – Crafts and Packages – Any time-intensive craft swaps or swaps that must be mailed in a package. Most swaps will fall under this type. Anything sent in a box, bubble mailer, or large envelope is a Type 3.
