Hi fellow swap-bot members!
I am super excited to find this group. I have been wanting to connect with others who share the same desire to write and craft. I have begun a Flickr account with photos so I can share my creations others. You can find me by typing in Elenamarie123.
Unfortunately, because of lyme disease I am allergic to many things, including dust, cats (I dislike cats...a lot...due to being scratched as a kid), dogs, perfume, candles, cleaning products, smoke, almost all chemicals. I think it's called multiple chemical sensitivities.
As for my interests, I enjoy reading, writing, making paper crafts, walking outside when able, drinking herbal tea, and watching British and Hallmark television shows. I am a huge PBS and When Calls the Heart fan. My all-time favorite show is Gilmore Girls.
Other fun facts about me include that I often teach part-time college writing courses and/or tutor, which works out well for me. I am married. I have no kids of my own, but adore my nephew and godson.
My favorite colors are all shades of blue, greens, pink, and yellow. I don't care much for purple. Not a fan of glitter. I like gold over silver. Fall is my favorite season, especially because of the beautiful sunflowers that grow in Kansas. I am a Green Bay Packers football fan. Go Pack Go! Football is the only sport I like/follow.
My favorite teas are chamomile, green tea, and berry teas like raspberry. I like Stash brand teas. I'm always wanting to try new healthy/flavorful teas. My favorite fruits are cherries and strawberries. I like white chocolate and vanilla flavors over milk chocolate.
I like Christian music and country music. I love things that have inspirational quotes, poetry, and bible scriptures on them. I like butterflies, geese, ducks, baby farm animals and woodland animals. I love Whinnie the Pooh art and sayings. I like most animals but I don't like cats, llamas, sharks, sloths, nor camels.
My favorite trees are maple trees and my favorite flowers are wildflowers. I love nature.
Currently, I really am enjoying crafting with all different kinds of paper, which include sheet music paper, book paper, tea-dyed paper, magazine paper, art photos, scrapbook photo, etc.
I love embellishments, die cuts, especially anything vintage. I also really enjoyed junk journal and travelor's journal supplies, stamps, and stationary of all sorts. I enjoy postage stamps, used and new. I also love lace and French style fabrics. I really like Amity Bloom's style of travelor's journal work, as well as Tracie Fox. Check them out on YouTube.
My favorite ephemera, fabric, napkins, and paper/journal cards and supply themes are nature, wildflower, garden, literature/books/writing, vintage, Georgian/Regency era (images and quotes), and tea time.
I'm on the lookout for vintage brads and buttons and vintage Ephemera images and quotes.
My favorite magazines are Magnolia Journal, MaryJane"s Farm, Stampington/Sommerset, and Daphne's Diary.
My favorite movies/books are Elf the movie, Despicable Me the movie, Pride and Prejudice book and Movie, Little Women book and Movie, Chronicles of Narnia book, One Thousand Gifts book, Unbroken the book, The Best Yes book, and Paper craft magazines.
I could go on and on about all the things I enjoy in life. Mostly, it's the small things...a warm cup of tea, a sunset, a walk in the park, a soul talk with a friend. I'm an old soul who enjoys a quiet and meaningful life.
I have many more likes than dislikes but a few dislikes to mention just so you don't waste time, money, etc. would be:
tiny paper/sticker pieces like the size of a fingernail, unicorn things, norwals, big foot creatures things, rainbow things, florescent, tye-dye and neon colored things, cat things, sloths and Halloween creepy things.
(However, I do like harvest things though like leaves, pumpkins, hayrides, scarecrows, farm animals, nature woodland animals etc...these are all fantastic!)
Also not a fan of dream catchers, zombies, comic book/super hero things, bugs, snakes, spiders, clowns, guns, camo pattern things, and Hawaian, or Asian comic art or characters. I don't mean to offend. These are just not my style.
Please no glitter, or any kind of texturing that is not smooth. I like to use smooth paper/ephemera.
Modge podge matt and gloss finish are fine. Just nothing that leaves residue or scratches/tears at other paper. Ribbon, lace, and twine are great. It's the sharp surface texture stuff that is problematic.
Thanks for caring about my preferences. I'm truly grateful for the time you take with your swaps. I know I appreciate it when profiles are detailed. I aim to please.
Should you ever dislike the mail I send, or it arrives damaged, or perhaps gets lost and you don't receive it, or perhaps the postage was short, please let me know and I will do my best to replace/resend as soon as possible.
I look forward to connecting with some of you in the future. Here's to making hearts happy with happy mail!
Thanks so much for the opportunity to share my creativity and connect with other creative ladies.
