I
UPDATE 3-11-23 I am taking a break from swap bot for a little while. I have a lot of things going on right now and don't really have time for crafting. ☹️ Hopefully over the Summer I'll be back!
I'm married, no children, unfortunately. I'm the youngest of 6 children. I have many nieces, nephews and even great nieces and nephews.
I have been a professional nanny for many years. I've taken care of children in some capacity for most of my life. It's a blessing to help children grow and learn.
I like to do volunteer work. I currently help in our local chapter of Birthright. It's a free, confidential service for pregnant girls and women. I have also helped out at a women and children's crisis center.
My Bible, going to Mass, Adoration, and my walk with Jesus are very important to me. I've recently come across Bible journaling. I'd like to get one of these Bibles and try it out!
I enjoy working with different media. I like to find ways to recycle interesting items I find/receive. I enjoy ATC-cards and coins. I have begun some art journaling (may eventually do a smash book). I've done some glue book type projects on index cards and smaller journal pages.I really enjoy collaging. I've done altered books (LorriMarie Jenkins style), and I enjoy this very much. I've also made art journals for some of my "kids" and a junk journal for a family member. I'm enjoying finding creative ways to use materials in these junk journals that would just end up in a landfill. I've done scrapbooking, Zentangle, cross stitch. I am always looking for new ways to express my creativity. I'm interested in learning the art of stamping and quilling. I do some drawing (mostly trying the human figure, face, etc., but want to get into landscapes), want to try crochet too (have instructions but haven't tried it yet)
LOVE to read! The only thing I don't really read are westerns and not much heady romantic novels (like Harlequin romance) or graphic novels. Haven't gotten into any biographies either, but if anyone had any suggestions, I might.
Adventure, Psychological thrillers, suspense, comedies, dramas, romance, etc. Love to see a good movie! some examples: Harry Potter series, Twilight Saga, Lord of the Rings, The Mirror has Two Faces, Pirates of the Carribean…, Hallmark films, love the series and movies of Signed, Sealed and Delivered.
Shows I used to watch: Supernatural, Smallville, Ghost Whisperer, Law & Order: SVU, Without a Trace, Lost, Heroes, Friends, X-Files, Angel, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Fringe, Bones, Firefly, Castle ('course I just love that Nathan Fillion!), Once Upon a Time, Elementary, God Friended Me, This is Us. Shows I currently watch: The Rookie, and Blue Bloods, Bob hearts Abishola. When we get free Paramount plus, we like to stream Star Trek series.
My radio station is Contemporary Christian Rock- Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Crowder, Lauren Daigle, etc.. I like uplifting/Christian/inspirational music. I like Jazz as well, but don't listen to it often. Big Band music for when my husband and I can go Swing dancing. I still do listen to 80's music every now and then, Bon Jovi is my favorite.
Dolphins-sea and ocean life, crafting, Ireland/Irish heritage; love, pens, pencils, markers, interesting papers; the color purple (any shade); butterflies; love to Swing dance, and Ballroom dance...and dance in general.
photography, lilies (Stargazers, mostly), anything Celtic/Irish, hearts, dogs (smaller breeds mostly, but love Huskies); going to garage sales/thrift stores and finding treasures to create with; also like the colors red, dark or "hot" pink, blue, green; bookmarks (but I have enough right now, PLEASE don't send any more at this time), interesting postage stamps, clear stamps
any violent/sexually graphic items; the color orange (except as pertaining to fall); anything depicting prejudices (unless it's to prove a point artistically); not really a house cat person, but like wild cats like tigers, panthers, cheeta, etc.; no perfumes or coffee; nothing WICCA, Tarot, or cult related; Hello Kitty; anime
any embellishments, journaling cards (or anything for junk journaling), ideas/instructions on stamping & quilling or different techniques on making background papers, lace, eyelet brads, brads, buttons, vintage anything, miniature anything (envies, game pieces, etc.), punched shapes-flowers, hearts, circles, scalloped circles, butterflies, etc.; washi tape; old art magazines, esp. from Stampington (like their art journaling magazine or somerset studio); paper napkins with designs; interesting images for focal points-such as vintage type pictures of people, butterflies, birds, dragonflies, gears and other machinery and mechanical devises, fashion magazine faces, pictures of jewelry and various cosmetics or perfume bottles; Tim Holtz style anything, but especially his paper dolls; inspiring quotes, esp. from Scripture; stamped images
