My name is Mindy. I'm 48. I've lived in New Hampshire all of my life. I've been with my boyfriend, Packy, for 14 years. I have 4 beautiful daughters that mean everything to me. My oldest is Kaila 30, Marissa 26, Shania 21 and Ciera 19. I love it when we can all get together which isn't as often as it used to be. Shania is in her 4th year of college to be a Nutritionist and Ciera is in her 2nd year of college to be a Nurse and is busy playing basketball. I really enjoy doing lots of different crafts. I'm always looking for something new to create. However, my favs will always be paper crafts, crocheting, plastic canvas and making Christmas ornaments. I enjoy making junk journals and I'm always up for a private junk journal swap. I owned a child care center for 10 years. I sold it to a Charter School. Now I am a Service Coordinator/Supervisor. I set up elderly with services that will help keep them in their homes as long as possible and supervise over 20 Direct Support Providers I love my job. I also eat a whole food/plant based diet. I try to avoid processed food so please don't send me candy.
*Christmas music. I secretly listens to it in my car throughout the year.
*hummingbirds (all birds)
*Shabby chic. I find it so pretty and elegant.
*Vintage. Especially shirts, dresses and jewelry
*Dunkin Donuts coffee. I should just have an IV put directly into my vein considering how much I drink!
*Sweater clips. My Mom makes jewelry and I asked her to make me one for a cardigan I bought. I loved it so much I asked my honey to get me a bunch of cardigans for Christmas and I asked my Mom to make me more sweater clips. It's like a 1950's thing, but I'm gonna bring them back, lol. My fav outfit is a pair of jeans, tank top and cardigan with a sweater clip.
*Yarn, bright colors. I love to crochet and bright colors make me happy!
*Christmas anything. I totally have OCD=Obsessive Christmas Disorder!
*Sweet scented candles. My Mom always saved candles for "best" when I was younger. Not me, I burn them every day! My daughters do too.
*I love Disney anything, but especially Villains. Maleficent is my fav.
*Anything PINK or sparkley. How can one not smile when they see something pink and sparkly?
*I like refurbishing furniture. I really like to make something old look new and fresh. I'm proudest of a flaked deacon bench that I sanded down and restained. It's gorgeous and I got it at a yard sale for $5!
*Flea market finds. I have a huge Christmas Village display and I got most of the pieces at flea markets. I've also bought most of my brooches there.
*Plastic canvas. I bought a huge bin full of plastic canvas sheets and books at a flea market about 7 years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I like to do it when I watch tv cuz it keeps my hands busy. I especially like to make PC Christmas ornaments!
*Crochet. My Grandmother taught me when I was 8 years old. I especially like to make afghans, pillows and Christmas stockings.
*Colorful fabric. I like to make colorful block quilts and pillow cases. I'm still fairly new to sewing. I would love to learn how to make tote bags and purses but my attempts have been less than successful so far.
*Bling. I like blingy things. What can I say....I see something sparkly and I'm like a deer caught in headlights.
*DIY projects. I'm a crafty queen at heart.
*Interior decorating, especially at Christmas. I LOVE decorating for Christmas. That's why I start in November and keep it up til January. I decorate for all of the holidays.
*Cooking and trying new recipes. I love cooking new things.
*Yankee candles, especially the sweet scents. I love vanilla, buttercream, peppermint, sweet pea, maple and all fruit scents. I'm not a big fan of the flowery scents.
*Pinterest. I can get lost on Pinterest for hours. It just sucks me in and before I know it, I've lost 2 hours of my life!
*Hummus. Yummy! Especially, garlic flavored!
*Finding new plant based recipes.
*Sons of Anarchy (The series finale was on 12/9/14! Boo hoo!)
*The Haunting of Hill House
*Walking Dead. I originally thought this show was stupid but 2 of my daughters always watched it so I watched it with them. It grows on you and each season gets better.
*American Horror Story. This show is so freaky. It's like a train wreck....I just can't look away.
*Vikings. The men in this are HOT!
*Family Guy. So stupid, it's funny.
*Simpsons. Been watching this for over 29 years!
*American Dad. Again, so stupid, it's funny.
*Amish books. I find it interesting how they live and their sense of community.
*Mythical books. Great when I want to escape the real world.
*Chicken soup for the soul books. I have 6 Christmas versions I like to reread.
*Harry Potter. For the nerd in me.
Obviously, I read a variety of different books.
I'm the kind of person that can picture the story in my mind while I'm reading it as if I'm watching it on a movie screen. Sometimes I'm so involved in the book that when I take a break, it takes me a few minutes to adjust to reality, lol.
I have to take breaks from reading sometimes because it can suck up so much of my life!
I also enjoy listening to audio books in my car because sometimes I travel far for my job.
*A Christmas Story
*Jim Carrey version of The Grinch
*All the Hallmark Christmas movies
*Harry Potter movies, I'm such a dork
*Anything with Robert DeNiro
*Any Christmas movie
*smoking. I hate it when the scent gets into my clothes. Yuck!
*rude people. I don't understand why some people have to use a pissed off tone when they speak to someone. You get a lot more when you’re kind towards others.
*onions. I wish I liked them because so many people use them when they cook. I gag when I eat them.
*Mushrooms. I gag when I eat these too. My Mom loves them.
*extremely late raters. I can't stand it when 2 weeks go by after I send something and they still haven't rated me. It leaves me wondering if they ever got it or if it got lost.
*no more stickers! Especially the tiny ones. Unless they are Christmas stickers.
*I don't care for religious Christmas cards
I promise to send all swaps on time to the best of my ability. If an emergency arises, I will respectfully notify any and all partners if my swap will be delayed in any way. Most of my swaps are mailed the same day I receive my partners, as I start working on them as soon as I sign up. If you do not receive a swap on time from me, please notify me so that I can make it up to you. If you didn't get my swap, it was probably something out of my control so please give me the chance to rectify it before you give me a low rating and ruin my chances for future swaps.I will treat everyone with the same respect I would like to be treated with. Swap-bot is a lot of fun to be a part of and I will do my best to make it remain a positive experience for myself and others.
I rate the same day I receive a swap so if I haven't rated you, I haven't received your swap yet. I understand life can get in the way so if you’re running a little late and you message me to give me a heads up, I will not give you a poor rating. I just don't want to have to chase people to see what happened to their swap. I do not compare members' swaps. I realize some people have more money and/or more time than others. As long as you met the requirement, I will give you a 5. If I felt like you really put some extra effort into your swap, I will give a heart. I will also try to give a comment so you will know how I liked it. I love when members post comments on my swaps-it lets me know what I did good and what I can improve on. So far this has been lots of fun. It's nice to go to the mailbox and have something besides a bill or junk mail. I also like the idea that I might of put a smile on someone's face when they receive my swap!
