I'm a nurse living in suburban NYC, I've always wanted to be more creatively fulfilled. Mail art has been a fun outlet for me to explore my creative tendencies. I've especially enjoyed MMSA swaps in the past but the postage stress for handmade cards sent me here. I have trouble starting projects, so I really appreciate the direction. Favorite colors include purple, green, magenta.
I love cats but have an allergic husband, so I dote on a pesky yet adorable labradoodle named Furley. We recently added a pet cockatiel to the mix, his name is Pineapple. I've done a lot of scrapbooking, but abruptly lost interest in creating new books. Casual art, magpie and writing journals are easier for me to update and adapt.
I love decorating for the holidays and the IDEA of entertaining. But in practice, I enjoy the cooking, arranging a "tablescape" but wish I had a ejection chute for my my guests after two hours LOL.
I enjoy shopping for antiques but am trying to reconcile my collections with a small house. Decks of cards, and Disney pins, and stamps are my latest obsessions. And I love any kind of anthropomorphic animal! They're impossibly cute!
I love 90s music, old school New Wave, Light FM, (especially 70s Yacht rock), Motown, some Broadway (Rent, Les Mis), Glamour hair metal,
Favorite book ever is The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher, I enjoy Maeve Binchy, Anita Shreve, Anne Rivers Siddons novels, short stories, tend to prefer uplifting books and themes. We have a little free library in our neighborhood, and I've found some good books by Fanny Flagg. I really enjoyed The Goldfinch, also like travel novels, Peter Mayle. Finally read I know this Much is True by Wally Lamb, loved it.
My favorite craft has been collage. I love vintage labels, ephemera, all kind of bits and pieces. I love STICKERS of all types, I still have my sticker books from when I was a child. I used to do a lot of scrapbooking, but prefer smaller art journals these days. I like using unique quotations, song lyrics, recycling cardboard packaging. I'm trying to learn how to sew with a machine to use on my collage, wish me luck!
Any kind of postcard is welcome, thanks! On deeper thought, if you have any sunset postcards lying around, I'd love them. I live in a densely populated area, and I miss that I can't see the sunset easily.
Kim's Convenience, Lost, Portlandia, Mad Men, Mozart in the Jungle, 80's sitcoms, Curb your Enthusiasm, Louis CK, the Love Boat, Seinfeld, Twilight Zone, Schitt's Creek, Enjoyed Haunting of Hill House, Dead to Me, Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, and Jersey Shore, Cobra Kai
I enjoy collage, especially working on my Soul Collage deck of cards. I love going to museums, and exploring New York City with my family. I love decorating the house for the holidays, and having family game and movie nights.
My daughter is 11 and her favorite things include: her pet cockatiel Pineapple, playing the piano and clarinet, basketball, lacrosse, all kinds of animals, especially dogs, birds, hedgehogs, squirrels, and chipmunks.
