Someone in a Yahoo group kept mentioning swap-bot so I decided to check it out. Love it! Yahoo groups are pretty much gone now, so I do my swapping here anymore.

Ooops, I didn't see the 3 paragraphs or longer before I commented.

I don't know what else to add so you can delete my comments and I'll unjoin the swap.

I found out about swapbot by researching sites similar to a site I was already using called post crossing, which allows users to send postcards internationally to one another. I was in college at the time, and didn’t have very many hobbies outside of school. Furthermore, i was living in a halfway house and trying to get clean and sober for the first time in years, which was a really big deal to me (but also a kind of boring new way of life). Running to my mailbox every day became a big deal. It was something to look forward to. It brought out my creative side even more, and let me find some kind of joy in a totally new way of life that I had been previously just sprain scared of.

Mobile formatting didn’t allow me to do paragraph breaks, although I assure you there are 3 ;)

Omg you guys are funny! No worries everyone. I honestly dont even remember how I found out about swapbot. I think I was really bored and was roaming the internet...thinking "I really love receiving mail, I wonder if theres anyone else like me who does too" so alas I searched and searched and finally ran across "SwapBot". I joined but immediately left because I literally had 0 idea how to even join a swap. Then, I thought I'd give it another chance, this time devoting my time into a lengthy profile and successfully joining my first swap ever (which, I got flaked on. So i mean, that was a start I guess!)

I found about Swap-Bot because of a friend of mine that I follow on my instagram penpal account! ♡ I saw her posting a lot of the mails or crafts she has posted on her feed and it made me curious as to what is there in swap-bot. At first, I was hesitant and I did not give myself a chance to try this website. Yet one day I became bored because there was no mail/letter coming in my mailbox (at that time I had a few penpals!) so I decided to visit Swap-Bot once again and give it a chance! And yeah! There it all started.

Now, I mostly log in and check swaps everyday!! HAHAHA it is something I love to do and it relaxes me after a long day at school. It is also a place that possibly made me meet a lot of nice people.

So yeah, that's my story!! Hope you enjoyed reading it ♡

I joined Swap-bot just over 12 years ago and really, I don't remember how I come to find it but am so happy that I did! I'm sure that I was googling about penpals or something and that's got to be how I come about being here.

I've always loved writing letters and when I found Swap-bot, I knew it was right up my alley though I was slow starting at first as I was confused as to how it worked and then I went a time that I was away from here but when I happened back on it, that was it - I started really swapping and have ever since then!

What keeps me here are the awesome swaps and there are so many different varieties so there's something for everyone. I started off doing mostly long letter swaps and then eventually added e-swaps in with the mix as well and so now I do both. It's so much better to have a swap in the mail than it is to have just junk mail, right?!

Hello everyone! I joined swap-bot many years ago, when my English was not as good as it is now, so I didn't participate in that many swaps then - I was olsy only a student with no income so I couldn't afford much. I found swap-bot when I was looking for websites to exchange postcards on (as I am also a member of Postcrossing). I really like the idea of sending other things too, though. This way I could try teas, snacks and sweets from all over the world and it was right up my alley, as I'm a huge foodie :) I also love writing letters - even though 2019 was a dark year for me and I didn't write much - so it's another reason for which I love swap-bot: all the great people looking for penpals and people that I can meet and write to. There's many things to do here and I love it :)

I found swapbot through a friend, she told me to join so now i'm here! I can't wait to further my experience with swapbot, especially since it seems to be a extra crafty site. Honestly, I didn't realise how many people use this site but its amazing! I wish there were more site's like this, mail is such a wonderful thing! Everyone here has such amazing stories <333

I over heard a coworker talking about it! It was last summer sometime, and I had been feeling like I was working so much I didnt have time for friends. I thought this would be a way to feel like I was getting interaction with people besides my fiance and coworkers. I have really enjoyed it - except I do feel a lot of pressure to go above and beyond to get the heart! I'm always a little sad when I don't get one, but I'm slowly learning some ppl just NEVER give a heart. (I've had the same partners on multiple swaps!) Heart "drama" aside, it's a great community here, and i love seeing things in my mail beside bills and junk mail.
