Description:

I decided to stop doing most craft swaps. So I will be giving away my stash on a monthly basis to the person that I am partnered with. The only person who will be sending anything is me. I will be sending out a large flat rate box (or small and medium flat rate boxes), whichever I have available. It will contain random items so if you are fussy, this isn't the swap for you.

I have made this swap USA, due to cost. I hope everyone understands.

Each month I will assign a different question that you need to answer underneath the swap.

This month's question is do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day and if so, what do you do? I recommend putting down your comment when you sign-up so that you don't forget.

Good luck everyone.

I no longer celebrate St. Patrick's Day. In the past, we had a nice Irish meal usually Irish Stew or Corn Beef and Cabbage.

I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I really hate being pinched, also.

Christianmom 03/ 1/2021 #

I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Even though I don't celebrate it I try to wear some green so I don't get pinched.

Honestly we have never celebrated St Patrick's Day except for the stuff we would do in school but we do have Irish relatives so I probably should celebrate. Who doesn't want another reason to celebrate right?! LOL! I love that your are doing your destash this way, so awesome for you to think of others and want your treasures to go to a good home. I love doing destash swaps bc it is like a big gift box of new treasures to go through and enjoy and if there is something you don't want then pass it on to the next good home. My granddaughter is 11 so is getting into crafting with Nana so I am splitting craft supplies with her to help her build her own little craft corner in her bedroom...she is loving it. I told her to prepare bc one of these days she will be inheriting Nana's craft stash and I expect her to take care of it! lol. Anyway, happy St Patrick's Day to you and hope you are having a great week!

I don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. When I was young I remember we wore green to school on St. Patrick’s Day and if you didn’t have green on you got pinched. Not sure why that was a thing!

my parents used to eat corned beef and cabbage at this hole-in-the-wall restaurant around the corner from where they lived, so it's tradition in my family to prepare corned beef and cabbage every year. But sometimes I will omit the cabbage and just make delicious corned beef, carrots and potatoes (and hopefully there will be enough leftover to make tasty, tasty corned beef hash the next morning).

I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day either but I love the green stuff because I celebrate Ostara or the Spring Equinox and return of all happy green things!!

I'm Irish and Jamaican so my mother's side of the family always celebrated it. I've always worn green for St Pats day and in my 20s I always went out and partied with friends and drank green beer. Now as an adult I just wear a green t-shirt or last year I brought a Jersey though I never got to wear it because the city shut down on 3/16 last year. So I'm looking forward to going into the office just to wear it on the 17

March 17 is my son’s birthday as well as the birthday of my mother in law (who went to Heaven 3 years ago). Another was born on the 18th (he’s my son’s age) and 3 other family members have March birthdays. My extended family, all 43 of us, go to a park for what we call Family Fun Day - even the out of state relations try to make it. We barbecue; fly kites, launch model rockets, play with bubbles for the babies and enjoy each other. Indoors we go in different directions or watch TV - in the park everyone enjoys everyone. The pandemic means we skipped Family Fun Day in 2020, and we’ll miss it this year as well. So we will keep the tradition with immediate family groups, and get together in the evening for a Zoom session. We’ll play a game called Watch Ya Mouth, where each player in turn uses a dental mouth guard (we all have our own!) and tries to say a phrase for their team to guess. We played this at Christmas and it was a laugh riot. We will sing Happy Birthday to the March birthdays, and in honor of our mother in law have a drawing on who gets to pick the animals we’ll give to Heifer International this year - everyone throws in $1 and we pick a flock of ducks, or other animals to give in the name of Patricia Arlene - who loved us all. Still does, in fact - love never dies.

St Patrick's Day is a big event in my family -- I'm ginger with ginger kids so we relish a day where we can be our zany Irish selves :) When the kids were younger, they started making leprechaun traps and setting them outside the night before. The first year they did it I told a mom friend of mine, who then came at night and sprinkled shamrock confetti and gold glitter around the trap. She made an adorable little parchment scroll where she wrote a poem in tiny script telling them they needed to try harder to catch him. She also left gold coin chocolates and a tiny green hat inside the trap. My kids' reactions were priceless when they checked the trap the next morning. That was over 10 years ago, but the tradition lives on. So we will set a trap the night before and see if this is the year we finally get to catch one of those little guys. Getting the whole pot of gold will be so worth the effort all these years.

I don't really celebrate it. I do wear something green on that though.

dottyspeckle 03/13/2021 #

I have never celebrated St. Patrick's Day, I'm not Irish and I don't know much about it actually.

Cynfully 03/13/2021 #

Sadly we do not do anything to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. But I do try to wear green and encourage all my family to as well. I don't like getting pinched..lol

DragonflyDreamer 03/14/2021 #

We don't do anything to celebrate these days. When I was younger and living in FL, there was a bar named O'Malley's that always threw a big party for St. Patrick's day, complete with green beer and a Floggin" Molly cover band. It was always a blast. Alas, that was long long ago in a land far far away!

2Hearts 03/14/2021 #

No green Leprechauns running around in my house! :-)

Cicely321 03/14/2021 #

I wear green. I cook cabbage, mash potatoes and a pot roast made with Guinness beer. I also decorate a little. It's fun. :o)

PerArduaAdAlta 03/15/2021 #

I'm not really a holiday person, but I do love food, so an excuse to have boiled corn beef and veggies is great to me! With horseradish sauce on the side, oh man, I love it!

EchoLima 03/15/2021 #

This year we celebrated early because my cousin came home from Florida with her new fiancé and we wanted to all get together. We made Mediterranean food and had green beer (although I didn't partake) and spent the night sharing stories and catching up. It was honestly one of my more memorable St. Patrick's Day's made all the more special because of the pandemic and having been away from each other for such a long time. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe <3

fiennesgirl 03/15/2021 #

I have some Irish blood and I love visiting Ireland, but I don’t do anything on St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate. If I lived “over there” I probably would though. A pub with good drink, fine music, hearty food, raising h*ll....I’m for that! Lol! I can pull a mean Guinness pint too!

Ace330660 03/15/2021 #

One side of my family is Irish. They usually have a large party with all Irish food, and everyone gets together. Sometimes we go to the parade downtown. This year it will be much smaller due to Covid. and no parade . Hopefully next year !

Sunnydays 03/15/2021 #

Sunnydays. I don’t celebrate this holiday but think Ireland is a beautiful country and the people there were very friendly.

bringitb 03/15/2021 #

I do not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. However, this year a pen pal sent me a stick-on green mustache for me to wear for all my work Zoom meetings. Should hopefully bring on a laugh or two. (Especially since I’m the new gal at work—on my second week already!) =)

bpl76 03/15/2021 #

We don't celebrate it except to have an excuse for wine time !

yvonne401 03/16/2021 #

Congrats to @2Hearts for winning my RAK!

TaraBird 03/16/2021 #

I celebrate with a traditional Irish meal of corned beef and cabbage with my family :)

dottyspeckle 03/17/2021 #

Do the rest of us still rate each other? @yvonne401

crochetjunkie 03/20/2021 #

I don’t celebrate. And I LOATHE being pinched.

yvonne401 03/22/2021 #
