I'm Carmen from the Netherlands. I'm still a student, currently in the final year of my master Animal Breeding and Genetics. To keep my profile clutter-free I have not made long detailed lists of all the things that I like or do not like. I'm not overly picky, as long as something is of decent quality and looks like it has been picked out with care, I will probably enjoy it :)

I used to play drums when I was younger, I'm now trying to learn to play the guitar and recently got myself a ukulele! I enjoy longboard skateboarding when the weather is right, I like knitting/crocheting while watching movies or listening to music. I try not to be too much of a hipster girl, but I do really enjoy listening to music on vinyl. I love playing video games, you can find my favorites at the bottom of this page. I like going on adventures outdoors, big or small. Preferably with my dog, Mara. She's a German Shepherd and she's the best! Together we foster shelter dogs that are in need of special attention: we nurse them back to health, teach them proper manners and help them find a loving home. I've traveled to South-Africa and it was amazing, the nature and wildlife just left me speechless. I'd love to see more of Africa in the future.

I love anything related to Africa, Batman, the Beatles, Nature/Animals and just things that are creative/original/inspiring/unique in some way.

My favorite animals are dogs (mostly the bigger ones, and dachshunds too) Wolves, Owls, Bats, Elephants, Rabbits, Turtles/Tortoises and Wild boars.

Food

I LOVE trying all sorts of food items from other countries! when I'm in another country I can spend hours at the grocery store just looking at stuff. I am a vegetarian though.

• If you're from the USA, I'd love to try Graham Crackers (so I can finally make real s'mores!) or some Lucky Charms cereal! May be removed from original box if that makes it easier to send

• Food items that contain meat, fish or gelatin... I'm a vegetarian, sorry.

• Eastern European chocolate (cookies with chocolate or something are fine, just not pure chocolate)

• I prefer animals in a somewhat natural setting, I do not particularly enjoy seeing a dog wear a t-shirt or a bear wearing a hat or things like that.

• TEA SWAPS:
  I like teas that don't contain (a lot of) artificial flavouring and I usually prefer green/herbal teas over black tea. But I'd love to try anything, really! Loose teas are also welcome.

Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings / the Hobbit, Star Wars, Star Trek, most movies by Studio Ghibli, Shrek, Up, Finding Nemo, Batman movies!

Favorite Video Games

the Elder Scrolls series, online RPG's, Portal, Super Mario, pokémon (yeah!), Minecraft and other nice indie games.
