I used to teach English at the university as a part time tutor and in high school, now I'm in the family business in the Tourism sector. I'm from Borneo, the land of orang utans! I have not explored every nook and corner mostly because it's always there and I can go later on, so instead I always dream about going to exotic places like Iran, Mongolia, Armenia, Peru!

My blog has some of my adventures and postcards. Slowly working on them ^_^

I like to write so I have started blogging a little but the problem with writing is that I think it's never good enough so it gets forgotten.

I enjoy nice mail very much! I look forward to getting home and seeing the contents of my mailbox, be it a postcard or a letter. I recently started penpalling but some of them have petered off

I love to travel! I travelled mostly in Asia as a young girl with my family and I dreamt of going on a long adventure for a long time so I finally got the courage, but baby steps first. In 2012, I started with two weeks in Italy with my sister , then backpacking in Indonesia for a month. Three summers ago I was in Europe for 3 and 1/2 months! It was a dream coming true at last! Now I plan on doing an even longer trip in Central Asia or South America

Edit (2015) I did a Silk road trip in the summer of 2014 from Turkey through former Soviet countries : Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrsgyzstan, Nagorno Karabakh and Russia and flew in a balloon at last!

and at the end of 2015 I went to South America..talk about dream coming true...I was at Machu Picchu!!

• Things I've done

I love to read! National Geographic,Reader's Digest ,encyclopedias! I also read a lot of YA books because of the fun sci fi and fantasy elements. The book that has currently been in my head even after I finished it weeks ago is the Abhorsen Chronicles which I read almost every year. Things I've read: Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfeld The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott The Mortal Instrument Series by Cassandra Clare The Abhorsen Chronicles His Dark Materials trilogy Sookie Stachhouse series by Charlaine Harris Peter Grant series by Ben Aaronovitch ( urban fantasy)

I used to read a lot of historical romances but I think I exhausted every possible romantic encounter in those books so I moved to fantasy trilogies. I still haven't read any of the high fantasy books such as LOTR, Wheel of Time , or Sword of Truth series.

I'd like to read more Terry Pratchett and Brandon Sanderson books. Currently have 20 books in a box waiting to be read ;)

I always watch action blockbusters at the cinema, I basically pay to watch the effects and explosions. I love Sci fi and futuristic and action adventure films;Oblivion or Minority Report, I,Robot, Judge Dredd, John Carter, Elysium only I love seeing another world. i don't like Tom Cruise honestly :p

Cloud Atlas, Avatar, Pan's Labyrinth, The Neverending story, The Dark Crystal, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Star Wars.

Besides fantasy and action, I like period/historical films and as I travel long distance flights every year I get to watch a lot of other films that never came to the screens in my country so I have other eclectic film favourites such as

Woman in Gold The Age of Adaline The Railway Man

As for tv series I watch The Good Wife, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Once Upon a time, Grimm, Warehouse 13,Penny Dreadful, Tru Blood. Notice the theme there? :D I welcome any recommendations! Currently catching up on Falling Skies

I like electronica. Used to listen to trance a lot but mostly like house music.Also getting into a bit of drum and bass and whatever else that sounds good that gives an eargasm

Also like vocals of Florence (Florence and the Machine) Rihanna, Sia, Dulce Pontes

Trying to widen my musical tastes so I've been listening to slower mood music by European artistes.

I love the little pieces of connection from people so I really put my heart and soul into filling every single space with words. I like the surprise of getting a postcard that you think would fit me!

I like anything you would care to send but if you need some ideas then here's some of the thematic collection that I have going on

I like tourist (store bought) postcards which show

Culture - traditional crafts, people at work or in traditional costumes,dolls,

People - Cards of famous people, Royalty, or that old woman sitting at a window watching the world

Animals - I love all animals and have special albums of owls, bears even teddybears (please no cute dogs or cats unless it's for a specific swap I sometimes join)

Buildings- castle, temple church cathedral mosque or old ruins

Scenery: mountains, volcanoes,canyons gorges rock formations, islands or bays that look something (sleeping dinosaur,giant,lady)

Places with funny names: I have Wizard Island, MI Camel Rock, NM Intercourse, PA Hell, Norway Perspire,Honduras Maidenhead, UK

Stairs

Trees

Library or interior filled with books (but not Penguin or other book covers)

Nature/Landscape: anything with good photography and breathtaking view

Dinosaur fossil,skeleton in museum (just curious to see if i can get one :D)

Map (I have most US states except CT,KS,NE,PR,TN,VT I don't mind getting the same state again if it's a different map card than what I have already - please check my blog)

Not a fan of: big letter fonts covering a postcard, recipe, Multiviews-sometimes I join a swap for Multiview because I have such cards but if it's possible to send me a single view that would be great :)
