You can call me Zelda. I'm just a gal from the US who likes swapping and interacting with people from all over. I'm a crafty person who is interested in finding others who just might be interested in what I think sounds fun. Once I get a few of those 5's under my belt I would love to host some unique swaps. Something a little different and fun. I hope you'll join me! And, of course, I'll be keeping an eye out for any fabulous swaps to join up with.
Here are a few things that I really enjoy doing.
*I'm a HUGE movie lover! Pretty much anything and everything. My favorite though is Horror. I personally think Horror is a wide genre and includes many styles of film. I love it all but my go-to is a really good Thriller with a nice twist or two. My friends, and I, are working our way through a couple movie watchlists. The newest being a very large Halloween watchlist.
*My favorite TV show is True Blood. Love it! Miss it!
*I love to travel. My favorite is a great road trip. I've done a few fun big trips in the last few years but the best was a month long trip down Route 66. What a crazy and amazing experience! I can't wait to get back out there again once the world is back to somewhat normal.
I've been to Europe, Canada, Mexico and a large portion of the US. Would love to visit Cuba, Egypt and... well everywhere actually.
*I love to try food and drink from different places. Things that I can not get here. It's one of my favorite parts of traveling.
*I really do love to do swaps. I've been active on RedditGifts for 4 years. 65 swaps since I started and I love being a rematcher.
I love lots of different crafts. A few I've been enjoying lately.
*Sending Snail Mail/Happy Mail
*Interactive Journal/Books (Wreck This Journal, Create This Book, Etc.)
*Crochet - I prefer to use acrylic yarn. The fancier yarns are pretty but I prefer plain old acrylic. No wool!!! It makes me itchy. While I tend to use mostly worsted weight 4 I am open to other weights. Sometimes it's nice to have something a little thinner or fun to have something a little chunkier. And, while I love the look of it, no yarns with the tinsel wrapped around the strand. It's so pretty but every time I've tried to use it the tinsel is broken in so many spots.
Some styles/things I enjoy in crafting and life itself.
*Pretty Papers in above styles
*Postcards/Cards in above styles
*Pretty, Pretty Pens. So many pretty pens!!! I do love colorful pens of all sorts. Just makes life more fun!
*Favorite color is Chartreuse. Love Chartreuse and Black together. Also Black and White, Black and Pink, Pink and Gray. While those are my favorites all colors are fun. I tend to stay away from pastels unless they are appropriate for something I'm working on.
I'm here to do some swaps and not worry about the horrors surrounding me. If only for a little while.
*No Hello Kitty
Nothing cutesy or geared towards kids (unless it's specified somewhere).
*No spiders!!! Seriously. I will haunt you after the heart attack you give me and make your life a nightmare. Ha!
While I LOVE Halloween I do not want anything with realistic looking spiders on it. Not really needing non realistic looking spiders either. Webs are just fine though.
I love pretty much all kinds of Christmas themed movies. Classics like It's a Wonderful Life to comedies like A Christmas Story to modern comedies like Elf to romcoms like Love Actually to classic stop-motion/animated specials like The Grinch or Rudolph. I especially enjoy seasonal themed horror films and Christmas is no exception! So anything Christmas and scary is fabulous!!!
Hallmark Channel style Christmas movies. It's not that I don't watch them sometimes, and once I start I can easily get sucked in (ha!), but I probably wouldn't feel the need to own many of them.
No movies that are overly religious in tone. Now, I have nothing against religion in movies (I was raised Catholic and hey, it's Christmas) but I do not want to be preached to during the movie. Does that make sense? And I mean no offense by this it's just my preference. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about this.
No Jim Carrey Christmas movies. No Home Alone movies.
I love to try different food and drink from different places. Things that I can not get here. If you can send something unique to your city, state or region that would great!!! But if you can't I completely understand.
I am open to pretty much any kind of yummy goodness but here are some likes and dislikes.
I like spicy foods but not light your mouth on fire spicy. I like to still taste the food underneath.
I like chips.
I like chocolate. Milk chocolate only please but with other things in it, yes please!
I'm one of those weird people that really like black licorice!!! I also like red licorice. Twizzlers are not red licorice. They are strawberry. Not the same 8)
I like - coconut, caramel, nuts, salty, sweet, sour.
I like soda pop.
When I drink tea I mostly drink herbal teas. All sorts of flavors. I don't mind caffeinated teas but I do not drink them very often.
No dark chocolate.
Nothing with artificial sweeteners - Aspartame, Saccharine, Sucrose, etc.
I do not drink coffee.
I don't care much for banana, mango or papaya flavors.
I love popcorn but I rarely eat microwave popcorn.
I don't really care for hard candies.
I find I don't really care for the Japanese style snacks. I've received a lot in different exchanges and, while fun to try, they never end up being something I want to eat.
I am open to anything you would like to send. If you thought it was great and want to pass it on I'm all for it!
I'll admit, I love my storytelling in movie form. I am so lazy when it comes to reading. But I do enjoy it! I really enjoy reading books that movies or TV shows are based on. I enjoy seeing how my favorites started out or seeing how both versions compare.
Just like my movie watching, I do enjoy a good thriller in book form too. Twisty, turny stories are always fun.
Here's an Amazon list that can help you out...
While I like Thrillers and Horror, I don't really want anything that's too much True Crime styled. Even if it's fiction, no serial killers. It's one thing to be in that for an hour and a half for a movie. It's a whole other thing to be in that, in lots of detail, for days with a book.
I also don't usually do Cozy Mysteries. But if that's what you want to share I'll give it a try. And my mom loves them so I can always pass it on to her if it's not my cup of tea.
