Because it is made by you, and hopefully with care, than I am sure to appreciate, cherish and love it!!! That being said, here is a bit about me for those who are interested...

I'm currently in graduate school (thesis year) for Interdisciplinary Arts & Media. I love all things dealing with art, fashion, film, photography, music, nature, animals and whatever makes one happy!

Favorite colours: GREEN (any green but especially kelly green, sap green & dark lime green), alizaran crimson, french ultramarine and black.

(But really, I love all colours...)

I believe that positivity and honor can heal the world, and that by making beautiful creations we can help spread the positivity and love around which is one thing I hope to do through this site.

I think Mail Art is one of the coolest forms of organically shape shifting art out there and I look forward to really exploring more of my crafty side while working/swapping with other artsy people on this site.

Thanks for considering me for a swap. If I've signed up for it, that means I can do it. I have a full plate with full time work & grad school, but I pride myself on only committing to projects I can give my complete attention to and see through to completion in a timely fashion.

Response: Dear Sam, You totally did work with me. I'm sorry I hadn't gotten them to you sooner. Both cards have been mailed (together) and are on their way to you. Please let me know that you receive them, I imagine it should be any day now. So so sorry for the delay. You were so kind to be so understanding!!! 5/23/10 - GLAD YOU FINALLY GOT THEM. I couldn't believe the post office SENT THEM TO ME instead of you. I was flabbergasted! Bad timing I felt! Anyway...I definitely think I'll be jumping back into the swaps shortly. Still recovering from thesis and took this week off to just RELAX! I figured I'd jump back in where ever the swaps are now, then I'd either make up missed ones for myself or look for future swaps that might have the pieces I'm missing! I love my decks so far!

Comment: Well, you know what they say... better late than never! And also, better COMPLETELY FREAKIN' AWESOME than crap! :) (Okay, I'm not actually sure who says that, besides me, just now.) But your owlie is, indeed, completely freakin' awesome! I've received a few owl cards in these swaps (mostly of the magazine cutout/sticker variety), but none so artistic as this!!! Really lovely work. Thanks also for the extras-- love the teeny hamsters! I hope all went well with your thesis, and hope to see you in the swaps again!!!
Response: Glad you finally got it! It seems that a couple others still haven't received theirs yet from the mail out last week - hopefully that will change soon and my rating will go positive again so I can get back into swapping. THESIS IS FINALLY DONE THANK GOD! I can breathe again which is incredible. And my artistic flow is starting to come back. Really glad you liked the owl! It was my first attempt and I was scared I'd make it look weird!!! Thought the little guy came out alright though! THANKS FOR THE RATING!

Comment: Sweet card! I'm actually quite curious as to how you did the coloring. Is it printed on, or markers, or what? -confusion- And what did you use to sign the back? Hope your thesis is going well!
Response: Hey Arty, sorry for the delayed response! The drawing was done with black india ink and a refillable pen onto the paper. Then I used a chartpak marker to fill in the surrounding area for the color! The back is signed with a paint pen. It can smudge easily if you don't give it a moment to dry, but once it dries it's solid!

Response: Sam! Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked this one. While flipping through my old sketch books I came across little drawings like that I had done and thought BINGO! And you are right, there IS usually a reason why I choose the words that I do...sometimes it's transparent, but usually not. I'm so glad you liked it. I really enjoyed making this one for you!

Comment: Wow! Devin, this must be the best APC I have gotten so far. I have been trying to learn new ways to make more interesting backgrounds. You have to tell me what you did to this one. Is that paint? I love every inch of this card...so interesting and lovely. Loving your origami skills, too. Thank you! Worth the wait. :)
Response: That is soooo nice of you to say! Thank you! I'm really glad you like it, especially since you had a to wait!! As for the background, I scratched up the surface a little bit with an exacto knife and then I used water thinned acrylic paint. That's it! Also, glad you liked the origami crane. :) Message me if I wasn't clear enough about the background or am not answering the right question! Cheers!

Response: Oh yay! I'm glad she's your favorite, what happy happenstance! The paper clips are from Cavallini (one of my favorite companies - based in Italy). They have AMAZING stuff!!! Their decorative papers are to die for!
