SPOILER: I post pictures of ATCs and other art swaps on my Flickr page.
Just a queer gal from New England. I'm a feminist activist, a pretty liberal/universalist Quaker, a bookworm, and mama to one spoiled black kitty. During the summer I do IT work, but for the rest of the year, I am a reasonably proficient university student majoring in history as well as minoring in computers. Though by the end of this school year, I'll be graduating, and that IT job will be a fulltime gig.
My historical interests are mainly Victorian and Edwardian Great Britain, theatre history, WWII, the French and Indian War, the French Revolution, GLBT history, and feminist history. I am always happy to be nerdy with other history fans. XD
I am also in love with languages. English is my native tongue, but I'm trying to become fluent in German too. I started taking Japanese this fall to learn to translate my non-English manga, and I know some French as well, but I'm way out of practice, haha.
True to my Sagittarius zodiac sign, I am an avid traveler who always has a bag packed and ready to go. :D So far I've been to Canada, Great Britain, Germany, and all over the USA. London has a special claim on my heart.
Japanese cuisine and tea are also high on my list of fun things. If I had to choose somewhere to live based on cuisine alone, I would pick Japan. And tea is a long time love.
Typewriters, the colors black and chartreuse, cats, and bunnies make me smile.
writing fiction (mostly historical and/or gay/lesbian)
reading
drawing and making comics
creating zines
learning to use tarot cards
cooking
knitting
I also dabble in other creative endeavors that strike my fancy. Variety is the spice of life and all that jazz.
Good Omens [by Neil Gaiman]
Notes From Underground: Zines and the Politics of Alternative Culture [by Stephen Duncombe]
The Hero & the Crown [by Robin McKinley]
Redwall [by Brian Jacques]
Yuri Monogatari (vol. 5) [various]
Women and Victorian Theatre [by Kerry Powell]
...I'm also a sucker for H.P. Lovecraft, Poe, travelogues, and feminist writing.
