ABOUT ME I am in my mid 50's, living in my native Slick City (SLC, Utah)...back in they day I homeschooled but now everyone is grown up and starting families themselves. I currently live with two cats, mine and my fella's. And I live with my fella :) Not my first husband...or my second. hahahaha!
but I do love living near the mountains. I try to get up there every summer for a good walk around. Hiking and walking are favorite activities of mine, along with zentangle, reading, writing, piano, movies...
classic 70's rock. I graduated in 79 so...yeah. Grew up on it. I also love classical music of all kinds. Orchestral music, blues. Gov't Mule, SRV, Mumford and Sons, etc. My favorite composer is Tchaikowsky, but Debussey is absolutely wonderful too.
U2 is a recent new love. I never really listened to them when they were at their peak, but have been enjoying them in the past 10 years a LOT.
If it's good music, I like it no matter the genre. If I can dance to it, I love it even better.
By far my very favorite book is The Hobbit with Tolkien's LOTR close behind. I was a Tolkien geek, writing fan fiction, before that was a "thing" ... Middle Earth is my favorite destination spot.
...other books that I read and read again are Silverlock, Jane Eyre, James Herriot (when I want something easy and sweet), CS Lewis's fiction. Non fiction topics are very far ranging. Current interests are quantum science, art, natural history, languages, poetry. I generally check out whatever looks good, from the library.
Recently I decided to read a poem a day for 30 days...and I've never stopped that! Poetry now makes up part of every day.
My favorite movie is the best movie ever made:
*The Princess Bride. *
I also love pretty much anything by Hiyao Miyasaki, but Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away top that list. But all of his are good, bar none. Babette's Feast, About a Boy, a Knight's Tale. Pixar have created some wonderful movies that I enjoy. Every time I think "this is their best ever" until I see their newest one.
Zombieland is my favorite zombie movie. I thought Shaun of the Dead was clever, too
Invasion of the Body Snatchers scared me more than any movie I've ever watched, and I appreciate creepy-ish movies like The Ring or The Others. I do NOT watch slasher movies.
I have never been much into crafts, mostly because you have to clean up afterwards...or more likely in my case, leave it all out to clutter things up. but zentangle changed all that. It is a hobby you can keep on your lap, with a pencil and a black pen, a tile, and possibly a flat to carry tiles, or a sketchbook. That's all you need, and you end up with SUCH cool looking little bits of art. It's the first crafty/arty thing that caught my attention. I practice and play in zentangle every day and love it.
I'm a vegetarian/vegan. Whole foods, plant based. Favorite dining out is CafΓΒ© Rio, and usually Chinese anywhere has at least one vegetarian offering. Vietnamese! Pho is a favorite, which I make at home quite often.
Favorite color is yellow, because it is sunshiney, friendly, and warm.
Second favorite color is pink, because I look REALLY good in pink. hahahaha. But all the jewel/winter tones are wonderful for me. And I love color all the way around, anyway.
I love chickens, and have a bit of a collection at home, various things of unique character (e.g. a cast iron trivet shaped like a chicken; a twig carved into a rooster; a chicken couch pillow) Chickens and books, my only collections.
Dark chocolate, 85% organic free trade. My favorite is called Alter Eco, and I also love Green &Black. This level of cacao IS a health food, and that's all there is to it. It is so rich, it takes me a few days to go thru a 3 oz bar.

Hiya. Just to say that your username absolutely cracked me up when I spotted it! Buns of steel is one of my favourite comments, hence the amusement xx
left you a comment on the "lets zentangle a pocket letter" swap page but in case you don't see it: there's currently a bug plaguing swapbot and notifications of new swaps aren't being sent out. That's probably why you didn't hear about the swap until you got pynart's message.
