Hello everyone! I am a night shift nurse and I'm working on my masters degree for nursing education. I live in New Jersey, USA. It's cool because I'm super close to NYC (30 minute drive?) yet can still drive 30 minutes to the west and be in a rural area. I'm a Gemini-Cancer cusp so I like to joke that I'm 3 people in one sometimes.
I have a few pets. One is my 6 year old house duck named Quack; I've had him since he was 2 days old. He loves rubber ducks and taking his diapers off. I have a one year old rescue bunny, Milkshake. She loves eating every fruit or vegetable that won't eat her first. I also have a 14 week old bunny, Hamilton. He's probably blind in one eye due to trauma as a young infant but I've been taking care of it and it seems to be healing. He's a sweetheart but will destroy any and all phone chargers if you look away from him for 0.5 seconds. Both of my bunnies are holland lops so they have the floppiest, longest ears. I'd love to get some false chameleons and exotic colored guppies down the line, because why not have a mini zoo?
I'm really into sewing and making bracelets as far as my crafting goes. I try to make bracelets with crystals that all have specific properties (for love, studying/school, etc.) I recently started doing a lot of wine and paint nights with my friends and I'd love to start painting with acrylics at home now, too, if I find the time. I also have a decently impressive game night collection and would love to continue growing that. Black and purple are my favorite colors. I only wear black 99% of the time. I don't care if it's super goth, super girly, or a funny t shirt-- as long as it's black, I'll wear it happily.
When I actually have time to read books, I have a few that I like. I like local ghost stories, true crime, “weird (insert state)”, and funny coffee table books (cue “wet dogs” and “awkward family photos”. I loved Sue Grafton’s alphabet series. I also enjoy reading mostly anything from the psychology/self help section at the bookstore. Anything metaphysical is cool, too. Lastly I love children’s books about ducks or bunnies where they are the main character because I read to my pets. Quack is into it. Bunnies still a bit weirded out by it.
I'm definitelty a "foodie", too. I love trying new recipes and foods from any country. Lastly, I am a caffeine fiend, as my username implies. Any coffee, tea, energy drink, you name it, I'll try it. It comes with being a night nurse and a perpetual college student. Right now I'm loving whole beans so i can grind them myself and make cold brew coffee. Experimenting with cold brew is much better than experimenting with drugs, I'd like to imagine.
