Hi! I'm Sara. I live in western Washington (in the US) and work in a library. Oh, and I'm a giant big geek. 8)
I watch a lot of sci-fi tv, read a lot of horror fiction, knit obsessively, and collect PEZ dispensers. And things with crows on them.
Rhinegold, House of Leaves, Alice in Wonderland, Dune, Dracula, American Gods, The League of Frightened Men, Beowulf, The Monster Show, The Talisman, Gaudy Night, The Little Prince, Wind in the Willows, The Poetic Edda, the Discworld Series, etc...
I like mysteries where the detective is interesting, kidlit, mythology and folklore, sci-fi that's not too technical about the tech, fantasy that does a little more than rip off Tolkein, Lovecraftian horror, and genre fiction that makes me think.
I am also a huge fan of audiobooks and audiodrama. People reading to me = totally awesome.
Bride of Frankenstein. Gods, but I love that film. Classic horror movies in general, really.
Also Elling, Hard Core Logo, Re-Animator, The Neverending Story, The Last Unicorn, Dark City, Cube, and so on.
Doctor Who, DS9, Babylon 5, Farscape, Buffy, Sappire & Steel, Firefly, Batman: TAS, Avatar, Justice League, Twin Peaks. Cartoons and sci-fi - I said I was a geek, right?
Knitting. I like to write, also. And I'm willing to try any kind of craft once. 8)
I really like writing swaps, but I have a possibly unfortunate tendency to sneak Lovecraft jokes into most of my creative writing. I feel it's only right that people be warned beforehand.
Crows/ravens
Cephalopods
Halloween things
Monsters (most especially the Bride of Frankenstein but most of the Universal Horror line are okay by me)
Vampires (but not Twilight, please. I like to think of myself as an old school vampire fan - 1800's old school.)
PEZ dispensers - especially older ones. (If someone has a PEZ gun they don't want, I will gladly take it off your hands)
Sock yarn
Tea. Well, most tea. I don't like bergamot, so I tend to avoid Earl Greys, but I'm at least willing to try anything else.
Robots
Dinosaurs
Rocket ships
Candles
Scarecrows
Rag dolls
Shiny things. Which I mean in a fairly corvine sense - I like buttons and small stones and pieces of string and abandoned puzzle pieces and beads and, well. Things you find on the ground and pick up and put in your pockets to play with when you're bored. (Other people do that, right?) You know. Shiny things. 8)
Oh, and my favorite colors are blue, grey, dark green, and black.
Scented things. I'm sensitive to a lot of smells, especially the artificial ones they use in candles and such, so it's really better to just avoid such things.
Coffee. Tea drinker, me.
Licorice.
Christian items. I'm a heathen (Asatruar/Germanic pagan, whatever), so I'm afraid that I wouldn't be a terribly receptive audience to them. (In return, I promise not to send you wacky heathen things unless you indicate that you would be receptive to those.)
Pastel colors. Especially pink. (I know, I know.)
And, well, I don't much care for things that are overly cute or sentimental. I like kawaii to a certain degree but I'm not really into cutesy stuff.

Thank you so much for angeling me in the Monster in a Box swap. He did indeed travel quickly. I'm not usually so lucky to get an angel so thanks, again, for being a great host!
