Hello! My Name is Rachel, I'm 22yrs old and from Canada. I speak English, et je peux aussi parler un peu de français.
I have already been a snail mailer for 3yrs now, and have an instagram where I post pictures of stationery, mail, youtube videos I make about stationery crafts & mail, and other goodies.
I made this account a while back but have recently decided to give it a go. I know I don't have a lot of ratings yet, but feel free to check out my instagram because I post all the mail I send out there to my penpals & postcard swaps I've done, so you can see I am reliable. haha. Incase the Insta link doesnt work my username is also : @journaling_rachel
Halloween is my favourite holiday, so I am a spooky girl at heart. Anything creepy/halloween related is welcome all year round.
I am super cheerful, LGBTQ+ friendly, and very excited to use this website to expand my social circle, as well as share my love of stationery with others.
Things I would love from swaps:
stickers (not childish, or alphabet), washi samples, journaling cards, die cuts, pressed flowers, post cards, stamps (used or unused), any tea, wax seals, enamel pins/lapel pins, I LOVE ALL PAPER EPHEMERA
TIME FOR TEA:
As for tea swaps, I do not have any allergies. I will enjoy any tea's that you send me, but if you are looking for some ideas: I like fruity, herbal, and not caffeinated. Also any flavours that are unique to your country!
I have always had a passion for writing and crafts. Ever since I was a child I have loved writing. I hope to publish a novel (or 2 , or 3 haha) some day. I write daily journals, and even have one from way back when I was in grade 3!
For my 8th birthday, my Nana bought me my very first scrap book and I have been hooked on paper crafts since!
My love for stationery has caused me to pick up the hobbies of: scrapbooking, journaling, bullet journaling, planning, and snail mail!
I recently started making junk journals as well, so any cool (and good sized) scrap paper is welcome for you to send my way.
I LOVE postcards, and I LOVE seeing all the stamps from around the world. I plan on starting a stamp collection as well. :)
I also am an artist, and have recently been designing my own stickers. I enjoy making and trading ATC cards as well.
I love all music honestly. In my house growing up we ALWAYS had the radio on. SO I have listened to so much older music from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's grunge, and 2000's pop. I also play violin and I have a love for classical music.
Themes I enjoy for items, postcards, etc:
HALLOWEEN/SPOOKY ITEMS WELCOME ALL YEAR ROUND BABY
MUSHROOMS / cottage core/ woodland
bats & snakes
anything mail related (postcards, stamps, post boxes, mail boxes, letter writing, etc)
faeries, gnomes, elves, gargoyles
horror / creepy
ALICE IN WONDERLAND
cacti & succulents
coffee & tea
water colour paintings
attractions of your city & country
sharks (and other deep sea creatures)
lemons & strawberries
anime of ONLY: Jojo's, Fairy Tale, or Fruits Basket
witchy & paranormal
astrology & celestial
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME:
any country postcards, not from your country (eg. say you live in England and have an Italian postcard - do not mail me that thankyou)
any religious cards
holiday cards that are not in season, (exception is Halloween because I love that holiday)
any animes that I have not specifically listed
any KPOP stuff since I do not follow the bands
ONLY send handmade cards if it is directly listed in the swap description
I will rate you fairly, and I expect the same from you. I do understand that mistakes happen AND due to covid mail shipping times are greatly delayed, If your swap is late (and or missing) please contact me by the deadline. If you do not, I will rate you accordingly.
I will take a photo as proof that I have sent something out. Why would I write the address & have postage on something that I was not sending? This is just incase that something would be lost in the mail - which is not my fault. But I would be open to resending. Some of my mail may have a different day it is stamped by the post office because I drop my mail off in a postal box and it could take some time to be processed after it is picked up.
If for whatever reason you have a problem with something I sent you, again please contact me directly and we can try and work something out. :)
