I retired in September 2016. This year I want to be fully engaged in my creativity and explore new techniques and reengage in my photography.
I have a son, Eric, who is 38 years old and is the father of my three most beautiful grandchildren: Bella, 15 y.o., Kaitlin, 10 y.o. and then Aiden, 5 y.o.. I also have a daughter, Jessica, who is married and is 40 years old.
I live life to the fullest and my children, grandchildren, family and friends are the most important people in my life. Yep, I am single and loving every minute of being single and an independent, vibrant woman.
I do photography as a hobby and plan to elevate myself as a photographer as i move through life. I have taken a few award winning photographs in Paris and North Carolina. I have written a few poems and/or quotes to the pictures I have taken. I want to do more of that and if there is a swap that presents itself merging photography and writing I would certainly join.
I have dabbled in the digital scrapbooking but since I have been sending pocket letters my creativity has gone from digital and putting a few stickers/embellishments on the ATC. Now I do so much more, still do digital, include when I can, my photography and yes, I still do embellish beautifully the cards quite a bit - unique to the theme.
A lot of my work is about my own personal life journey, thus I will jump at a chance to create and participate in anything that I can express through art/creative process I am big on my work telling a story and looking for themes and ways to express my life story, ancestral stories and cultural stories.
I have done about 75 plus pocket letters and they just get better and better. I Recently I posted one of my pocket letters "Vintage Peacock" on FaceBook and I could not believe it got over 30 comments and 183 likes. I was breathless.
I look forward to more challenges that challenge me to go outside my comfort zone and for me to learn other techniques and projects. I love the swap-bot because it is supports me in many ways by giving, receiving, creating and so many unique ways to do all that.
