I enjoy all kinds of music, really. I'm not too keen on heavy metal and punk rock anymore. Got my fill of that in my college days! I love world music, folk, indie rock and I'm always open to listening to something new. I've played the violin/fiddle since I was 8 years old (many, many years ago)and I've been surrounded by, and immersed in music all of my life. My husband and I love going to concerts and festivals to see what new kinds of music and new groups we can discover. So, anything goes!

I'm addicted to books and magazines! Historical novels and mysteries are my favorite types of books. I'm also a serious Harry Potter fan! Can't get enough craft books & magazines - beading/jewelry making, crochet, sewing. My husband is addicted to books, too. Almost every room in our house has book shelves in it, except the bathroom. Suprise! Why read on the pot when you can read in every other room in the house?

More Harry Potter movies please! Loved the Lord of the Rings movies, too. Some other favorites: The Chronicles of Narnia, Young Frankenstein, Mame ( with Rosalind Russell), Mary Poppins, Big Fish, any of the Marx Brothers movies, Sixteen Candles, any of the Shakespeare movies with Kenneth Branagh, any movie with Johnny Depp in it, and pretty much any movie from the 30's, 40's, and early 50's (I love the costumes and sets!). Not too keen on slasher movies-I saw enough blood and gore when I worked in hospitals. Can't wait to see the Simpson's movie. I also found out that "Sweeney Todd" with Johnny Depp is coming out in December - yipee!!!

I mostly watch PBS, BBC America, DIY, and HGTV. Don't get to watch very much TV, though. I love the Law and Order series! My husband and I like to watch reruns of Hawaii Five-O and Kung-Fu. When we were kids they were the coolest, now they're hilarious!

Ever since I can remember, I've been crafty. It's in my blood! My mother was a teacher and minored in art in college. Both my grandmothers would have given Martha Stewart a run for her money! My dad's mom taught me to embroider when I was around 6 and crochet when I was 8. My mom's mom was a fabulous sewer. She made all of her own drapes and slipcovers, and made hats to match all of her outfits. So I was raised with a deep respect for handcrafts and I have always enjoyed making gifts for others and receiving handmade items as gifts. I can't begin to express how excited I am about the craft resurgence we're experiencing! I'm delirious over it on a daily basis! My favorite crafts are embroidery, crochet, sewing, and beading/jewelry making, but I've tried just about everything at some point. Right now I'm making alot of stuff using recycled materials and I'm addicted to making crocheted amigurumi.

Other stuff I love: My toy poodle Kipper - can't stop kissing him - he's so darn cute! I love anything poodle-y.

Favorite characters: anything Kawaii, Hello Kitty (I've loved her since I was in college in the 80's and I still have all my stuff from back then), Strawberry Shortcake, Pucca

Favorite travels: Paris, South Korea, Germany

Favorite flowers: rose, daisy, chrysanthemum

Favorite colors: pink & black, pink & brown, purple, dark red, deep brown

Favorite flavors: Chocolate, coconut

Tea and anything tea-related

I love to cook - my favorite foods are Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, and Middle Eastern

Can't get enough rocks, minerals, and crystals - I use them around the house, in jewelry, and during my massage sessions

I am a yarn-, embroidery fiber-, and fabric-holic

I keep a pretty "green" household and I use a lot of herbal, aromatherapy, and homeopathic remedies

Favorite scents are lavender, frankincense, anything herbal-y, citrus-y, or spicey. Don't like heavy florals or vanilla.

Love candles, incense, and essential oils

I enjoy doing nice things for others and I'm going to love putting together swap packages! I always appreciate what other people do for me and I'm really excited about joining some swaps. I hope to meet a lot of interesting people doing so!
