I am a wife and mother of 2 sons and 1 daughter, grandmother of 1. I worked for 34 years in a college, retiring as the registrar and director of admission. ( Boy, I don't miss that stress!) My husband and I are both retired and enjoy travelling as much as possible. We've just returned from a cruise to Alaska. My husband is from India, so I have been there several times. We'll vacation at the beach later in the summer with the whole family.
I love sewing, hand quilting, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitching and scrapbooking. Life would be a lot easier if I liked only one of them. Since retiring in January 08, I have worked at completing UFOs, but I have also done several new projects, including 2 qs quilts (one of which was hand quilted), 1 baby quilt, and several mini quilts. I am currently working on a Double Wedding Ring quilt. I have one that my great aunt made for me when I was a small child, and I have always wanted to make one myself. I am participating in several other block swaps, and thoroughly enjoy it. I love 30s and 40s reproduction fabrics - they remind me so much of what I saw around me as a child. My favorite colors are purple, blue and green, but all the colors are fun to work with.
I love to read, but don't do as much of it as I should. Crafts take up most of my time! When I do find the time, though, I love Tom Clancy, James Patterson and David Baldacci.
