Busy single mom from PA working and trying to stay cool in the face of getting older. One adorable 7-year-old who is just beginning to get into craftiness so there is almost always a mess of sparkles/paint/feathers/glue/fabric scraps/yarn bits around our house. I've not traveled much at all but I've always wanted to so I'd love to hear about what it's like in other parts of the country or around the world. I'm usually doing something with my hands - some kind of art/craft thing or holding a book or baking something or doing something child related. I love just about all animals and spooky and dark things especially werewolves and zombies or maybe werewolf zombies... hrm....

Huge Alkaline Trio fan but am also pretty ecclectic - love Rob Zombie, Muse, Rush (yeah, I said it), GWAR, Modest Mouse, Linkin Park, Disturbed, old Metallica, and a whole ton of other stuff. Generally not top 40's or pop music but even some of that is palatable, if I'm honest.

Probably 90% of the movies I watch are horror flicks - Jaws, The Exorcist, Dead Alive, The Evil Dead Trilogy, The Howling, Alien, Perfume, etc... You name it - I've probably seen it, heard of it or have it in my Netflix que. That doesn't mean I don't watch other stuff a couple of comfort movies (well aside from Se7en and Predator) are comedies like The Waterboy and The Wedding Singer and The Birdcage. I also really love Lost in Translation and have a soft spot for Once.

Alice in Wonderland is my all time fav followed by Through the Looking Glass. I also really dig Carroll's poetry - "The Hunting of the Snark" especially. I'll pick up anything and read it - mostly horror novels and scifi, but also some poetry and other stuffs - I'm a huge Poe fan, of course but also dig Straub, early King, McCammon, Lovecraft and also other stuff as well, Caleb Carr, John Sanford, Heinlen and all sorts of things... I also enjoy finding new authors on inidie publishers

I love to knit and sew and will also paint and draw as the mood strikes me. I like finding things around the house and making them more usefull. Just starting to dabble into things powered by batteries... Also did a couple of ATC's for a swap and figured I'll play around with those now too. Can't have too many hobbies, right?

I don't watch a ton of TV - mostly I stick to movies and stuff you would find on Fearnet or Independent Film or Sundance channels. When I am watching it's either some kind of cooking, educational or cartoon programing - I really do love Adult Swim on Cartoon Network - or something child friendly because the kiddo snagged the remote again. However the bf is getting me into some more mainstream shows like Wipeout... That is funny stuff!

I dig on Warhol, Jamie Wyeth, Albrect Durer, Edward Gorey, and I share the same birthday as Monet so I have to give him some props. I also like Maxfield Parish and Alphonse Mucha and Henri de Toulouse-Latrec (cause can-can girls are cool). I really don't like Picasso at all or any of the cubist stuff - not big into Klimt either - I guess I don't follow a certain pattern I just know what I like and what I don't - not exactly why...

My daughter, Katie, is 7 going on 25 I think - she always acts old for her age. She'll be a 2nd grader come fall and is really looking forward to getting back to school. She loves Hello Kitty and Chococat, every animal that walks the planet (especially cats), and wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Her fav colors are blue and silver and purple and green (although they change alot). She's not into anything girly at all although she really like cute things like baby animals.
