Just a note on the 3 that I received. Please do not associate the 3 with being a bad swapper. The recipient of a swap I sent out did not like what I sent and claimed that it did not meet the swap requirements. The coordinator and many other people in the forums supported me and what I sent. I am not angry, disappointed yes, because this will effect the swaps I can participate in. But, I can't change it. So, as someone suggested, I wear this 3 with pride.
I have been on this site for over a year now! And am really enjoying myself. I am so humbled by the items people have sent me! What beautiful artwork and embellishments I have received! Wow!
If we have swapped before... THANK YOU for all of the beautiful things!
I am a mother of three "adult" children, 22, 20 & 18 and married to a wonderful man going on 25 years this September! We live in a suburban area with our two bunnies, and a shy cat. We have a lot of fun together.
I go by the full name Kathleen. so many people like to shorten it to Kathy, but that just isn't me! So, I love to be called Kathleen... some call me Rose for my user name too and that's ok too... thanks!
I do upcycled art and I especially like to work with paper and glass.
Can't wait to start swapping!
Something I've learned while swapping Please include some kind of small note with your swap. It makes the swap so much more special!! Thanks!
So I am an upcycle artist... which means I love to take old stuff, and I mean stuff and create cool stuff with it! Paper is my favorite kind of stuff, I collect old books, stickers, labels, ephemera if you will, postcards of people and cartoons, old photos, vintage classroom handouts and worksheets/books, board game pieces and cards. ModPodge is my best friend!
I shop the Thrift stores looking for cut glass and colored glass... so much fun! Check out my Flickr to see what I've done.
I love mysteries. I always start an author and read through their entire series before I go onto the next. I get into the groove of the author's style and feel like I'm more involved in the stories by being so familiar with the characters, settings or just the author's style of writing. I just finished MC Beaton's series with Hamish McBeth. I have also read Lee Child with Jack Reacher (no I don't want to see the movie), John Grisham, and Mary Higgins Clark. I'm onto Laura Childs new Cackleberry Cafe series.. I've read all her other series... I've seen the swaps for these books I'd like to get in on one! I have discovered Tony Hillerman! Needless to say I love my local library.. I have met some fantastic people who work there and also it's a great place to get hold of discarded books for my crafts!
Ok, You're going to laugh.... I love all the ghost stuff on tv. Ghost Hunters would be my favorite, then Destination Truth, Dead Files, Paranormal Witness, Ghost Mine and of course Supernatural. Anything about the paranormal either fictional or "real".
Things on the National Geographic Channel and History Channel too...
We no longer have extended cable, so I am resorting to Netflix and Hulu... I have become a "binge" watcher! I just binged on 'Lost'... loved it!! Finished Haven and am now two episodes away from finishing 'Once Upon A Time' 3rd season... I'm stalling to make it last longer. And yes... I am hooked on 'The Walking Dead'... who knew! I have to wait for season 4 to get to Netflix! Loved 4400... such a shame they cancelled it...
Wow... I love lots of music. My daughter listens to Pandora so she plays some great Indie music... love it! I have discovered Raggaeton! Los Lonely Boys, Rihanna, Bob Marley, The Doors, Willie Nelson, ELVIS!, Train, Usher, Santana, Maroon 5, Stevie Nicks, Beatles, .... everyone has sung something that I like...
I really like the Hallmark Channel movies... yes, chic flicks. Yes, I do drag my husband to them at the theatre... but also the scary ones too! Just NO slash and gore! I love... Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Harold and Maude, Bourne Identity with Matt Damon, Secondhand Lions (too cute!), Hello Dolly, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Nanny McPhee, The ghost and Mrs. Muir, Miss Marple Emma, Pride and Prejudice.......
If you are reading my profile to find out more about me, take a look at the swaps I have hosted. I think the swaps I have created say a lot about me! I love to explore new ways of doing things and I can't resist making something new out of something that would be discarded!
Candy wrappers, plastic milk jugs, Sunday comics, party napkins, etc. It's just too much fun!
So, thanks for reading all the way down here! Happy Swapping!
